Sony is one channel, I think, which doesnt care about TRPs...nahi to shows like Parvarish, which is a very nice n clean show with good msgs, bt nt a trp garner, wouldnt have been running fr so long! Sama with Anamika, BALH etc. n most of my Indian frnds here love these shows! Bt we arent TRP audience...we r nt contributing towards trps...its only SP, Zee n even Colors, that have both urban n rural reach, thats why shows in those channels fetch high trps...which is nt in case of Sony, even fr LOK...but frankly I love these two channels, where I cn gt variety of shows with fresh n nice story line, where I can enjoy the shows to te fullest...if CC runs fr a year n half or two with this trp I have no probz coz I m enjoying the show!! I think even SET-India shudnt bother as long as its show reaching its target audience!

I am also enjoying the show...but don't know why I tend to get a little hyper when the TRP numbers are not high...I guess the inherent human tendency to see yourself following something that's at top😉 😆...like you say...as long as the channel does not worry I am not going to worry (haha easier said than done😳)

Actually, I was going for a decrease thinking the previous week's TRPS were around 0.9. I felt it would drop, the assumption not based on watching the show but more on the reaction in this forum or lack there of! But I do agree, Sony shows hv always had low TRPs. And you would think that would save shows but a few YRF shows promised a second season but never returned so who knows how this works and figures in their scheme of things.

Haha ... easier said than done is right ... even though I know Sony shows don't get high TRP's, this number does worry me ... all I want is for Chhanchhan to stay on air for a year or more, especially as the story and execution HAS picked up in the last week or so. Let's hope that post-IPL, and hopefully post ML change (please, Godjee, channel and PH 😆) ... the show picks up to 1+ ... that should be good enough to keep it on air.

This forum is more concerned with the love story and romance ... the top TRP shows are never on top in this forum ... but this last week had a lot of Manav, who is NOT popular here ... so the activity here dropped ... and it didn't have enough of family drama to attract the TRP crowd.

The other issue is that the Sony audience is more urban ... am not sure how they will react to Chhanchhan if they get the feel of a saas-bahu show from it ... on the other channels, such shows get good TRPs because of the rural and small town reach, as Guinea pointed out ... but on Sony, with its more urban base, such a show might not work, unless it is really very different. The Sarabhai family is designed to appeal to that very urban base, I think ... so I would like to wait for next week's numbers too, since the Sarabhias did have good scenes this week.

But of course, can't get away from the fact that Sony doesn't get very high TRPs anyway. The flip side is, they might not be too bothered about low TRPs if they get a good buzz from the show. Right now the only buzz seems to be about how bad the ML is ... which they don't seem to be doing anything about 😕

Let's see ... will have to wait for IPL to end ... and hopefully, a much needed replacement ... now that Sanaya has said it, I am hoping again ...
