And what happenes if you break the pledge? I mean...if your with your boyfriend and your hormones are going high, would you really be thinking about that pledge you took? I dont think so, I think you mite be thinking if this is right or wrong. And that mite stop you from going to far. And that you can do without taking a pledge. I think brought up to know the its wrong, then when the moment comes it's your , I hate this word but "saanskars" that will stop you, not a plegde.

The traditions/values/sanskaar are majorly a part of eastern culture... so parents and kids follow that. What about the white kids when they have a society [majority] perception "Do what ever you like!" ..in such circumstances ... even if the pledges are being broken at large, if someone does refrain from teen pregnancy and AIDS due to this, what is the harm?

I really don't get the concept of virginity pledge. If you have self control and you are determined to not have physical relation before marriage, why do you need a pledge? 😕

The word "Sanskaar" Well, in Uk i think almost 70% of the girls dont have Sanskaars! They dont respect their parents at all!!!

I dont think dat Sanskaar word has any value in Uk(dun knw abt other countries)!

Now-a-dayz Indian girls are learning from English(white) kids only!😆 Seriously, Before say in 1990's No girl used to kiss a boy on roads & now... Oh dear😆 See its all learnt from english ppl!

do you mean white people dont have any values? Isnt that taking away from them. Their as human as us, their paretns are just like ours? I havent meet any "white" children who's paretns let them do whatever they like...and if they can do whatever they like, they wouldnt be takin the pledge in the first place.

I said... the "Majority's perception" ....keeping in view that there might be many people who don't like the idea of teens involving in pre-marital sex... IF they abide by the pledge [even very FEW OF THEM] and have been successful in preventing themselves from deadly diseases and problems... I ask again: What is the harm??? If somebody doesn't like to complete the pledge, their decision [even many don't follow the foot steps of our sanskaar...their choice!] But if there are SOME who do complete the pledge... its still good.

I think i have said enough... in this thread i would like to agree to disagree😊

Happy debating😊
