I think he is in love.
But he is too scared to label his feelings/emotions as " love". He may use other words to describe what he is feeling: "attraction/pull", etc.
At the airport he had to act with his heart not brain- it was an impulsive expression of his love. If he had time to analyze, think, and re-analyze, he may not have put the ring in her finger.
I think Zoya is still farther behind in understanding her feelings compared to Asad.
