Part 12

It was finally the night and geet was wondering now what to do. She was way too tired, her body felt as if she had gained 100s of kilos in a day. She looked at the bed, where maan was laying on one side facing his back to her and then her eyes fell on the floor where she slept last night.

Maan too was waiting to know what she is going to do. He had finally decided to just give her a day more to clear her mind. He was not ready to understand this time. His ego was big hurt, and then her indifference proved him that she didn't even care. So why should he??? No i won't too, he decided finally.

Geet looked at her babaji, making a pout, you love to trap me in these situations na, dekh lena i won't even talk with you now. She moved to the end corner of the bed knowing it's at least better than that hard rough cold floor.

Maan smiled a little when he felt the bed shift a little under her weight. His heart just wanted to go close and pull her to him, crushing her under his weight but then his mind refused out rightly. He was already guilt for those finger marks he had left on arms; he doesn't want to do anything more today. It had already been a long day for her.

Geet lay on the far corner of the bed, trying to keep as much distance as possible, holding herself as still as possible. She just hoped he was asleep and wouldn't notice that she slept beside him. She didn't even know when tiredness covered the better part of her mind consuming her in deep sleep.

Maan stayed awake for a while after she was in deep sleep. He turned facing her looking at her sleep so freely. Her forehead had some wrinkles as if she is angry even in her sleep and then he looked at her body, which was now actually covering half on the bed while she slept on her stomach.

He shook his head looking at her sleeping like a baby, and then slowly moved his fingers on her forehead touching her wrinkles, caressing them, smoothing them. He didn't hesitate for once to touch her now, may be because he knew she won't be rejecting now, or to be precise she won't even know. He leaned his head on his arm, as he focused on her shallow breathing, that light opening of her lips, his eyes moved lower to her chest, which bulged out a little as her breast pressed tightly on bed.

He immediately looked away from her, as his mind started forming weird seducing images. He closed his eyes tightly as his mind played tricks which he hated though loved too. Not able to control himself, he immediately gulped down a glass of chilled water to calm down his body temperature.

After few minutes, he took a deep breath, finally calmed, and then he took the spread and covered both of us, and lay back on his place. The time when he used to talk to her endlessly flashed in his mind. How can she change so much in just a day or is it that I never even knew her all along. Was I rushing things, was I pressurizing her, but shouldn't she understand too. Maan just stop thinking all this for some time, he finally said himself.

He gave her a last look and then looked at her red plump lips. In trance, he didn't even knew when he lifted himself on his hand and moved toward her, lightly brushing his lips on hers in a soft feather touch, that she didn't even realized it in her sleep.

She is sleep turned again, now facing her back to him, which actually broken his trace and he patted his head, and went back to his place to finally catch some peaceful sleep at least today.

Two days passed of their wedding and finally the relatives left the house, giving geet a great sigh of relief. In these two days, geet tried to talk with maan again but he would either avoid her purposely or would genuinely be busy in his work, collecting all his documents and doing last minute preparations. He was due to leave in next 4 days, and geet was now worried, will she be able to tell him the truth before he left.

She was busy cooking lunch when she heard landline ring. She moved to pick up the receiver but got shocked when she heard shalini's voice. Geet is it you??

Geet didn't say a word even. She just kept hearing her words. Her voice seemed feeble and broken, is everything right there, she wondered.

Geet puttar, I know it's you. Won't you even speak with your chachi.

Are you alright, your voice seemed weak, she said as she tried to control her breakdown. She didn't want to cry now, not when her mother in law is in the next room and her supposedly husband just a floor away.

Jeendi rhe puttar. Mai to theek hu, tu apna khayal to rakhti hai na. and maan beta tere saath acche se hai na, chachi said, as tears flew out of her eyes.

Sab theek hai , accha mjhe kaam hai, mai rakhti hu, geet said as she kept the receiver abruptly while shalini called her name. she immediately ran to kitchen and sat down behind the cooking counter, hugging her knees close to her chest.

After whole two days she heard her voice but she couldn't bring herself to talk with her. Whenever she speaks to her, the last few weeks flashes before her eyes making them flow like water. But today she felt something different in her voice. Something felt badly wrong. Babaji bhala kari sabka, she said giving her offering to babaji as she let out her pent up emotions.

Maan was in his room keeping the important documents in his bag, when he found his few bank papers were missing. He then remembered he had given them to maa, and shouted at her, to send those papers upstairs.

Savitri gave those papers to geet to handover maan. She nodded and went to give him immediately. Maan was again busy when he heard the music of her anklets and knew she is coming. Geet gave him that papers which he took silently.

Geet thought this is the opportunity, she should tell him.

Suniye, mujhe kuch kehna hai aapse.

Maan didn't reply, kept arranging his documents silently.

Suniye na, she again said, this time more loudly but he ignored her.

She looked at him with a i-will-kill you look, but as if he cared. He kept ignoring her.

being fed up of him, she snatched the papers of his hand and placed them behind her back. Geet give me those papers they are important, he said, bringing his palm forward.

Nhi firstly you listen to me. 2 din se I am trying to talk to you but you keep ignoring me. Mujhe kuch jaruri kehna hai aapse.

He gave her a look saying give-me-back-or-else while she just pushed him away.

Nhi dungi till you listen me. Mujhe ye kehna tha ki jo aap, but her words left in her mouth as he came closer to her trying to hold her hand and take the papers.

Geet struggled to maintain the hold but he kept getting hold of her making her struggle more. Because of this entire struggle, her leg got entangled with his making both of them fall on bed. But none paid attention to their closeness as their main attention was on those papers which were behaving as a basketball of which both wanted to get hold.

Maan finally got the hold of those papers and gave her a smirk. Geet's teenager mind won't accept the defeat and she again pulled those papers making then tear in half. Geet's eyes widened as she looked at the papers which were now divided in two equal sets and then his eyes which were turning red with anger.

She knew she is dead now, as he stood up on his feet and was about to shout on her while she immediately ran away knowing it would be her harm only if she stayed a minute more.

Maan looked at the two sets in anger and thought how she can do this. It took him two days to collect all that from his office, and he didn't have a copy of it damn. He just wanted to smash her head now as he made way for his office to think what to do now.
