Stop for a minute and think, if a little girl was saddled with in laws and a hubby since she was a child and was told to do everything which pleases him and her in laws, and that that same hubby keeps insulting and humiliating her and then cheats on her with another woman, any woman self esteem would shatter into pieces, and self esteem is like a mirror, once its broken, it can be pieced together but it would never be the same, because for it to be new again, you would have to emerge as a new person altogether, and we can see Anandi trying to be that new person, but your emotional scars doesn't heal in a day or weeks or even months, it takes a lot of time, especially for a women who was emotionally scarred from a very tender age after she was emotionally tortured. Anandi has just recently gathered herself, has gained new confidence when she was made the sarpanch and also dealt with her divorce, but fate gave her another emotional blow when her mom passed away, which again left her emotionally drained. She needs to become confident about herself and she will with time and that too not much time, especially with the way Shiv is being patient with her. Its not easy for a women who has been humiliated and told again and again that she is not desirable, to suddenly realize and accept that yes there is someone who desires and wants her. She would be scared with just that thought that Shiv who constantly tells her how beautiful she, might be disappointed in her when they do become physically intimate.
