Hey there!

It's been a while since I wrote you a letter, the last one wasn't pretty and I do apologize for that.

Qubool Hai has invoked a lot emotions in me and I do respond, react to your characters. Whether it be the straight laced Asad, the free spirited Ayaan, the strong Zoya, the innocent Hemeira- I do care deeply for these characters.

But as a viewer and your fan, I do have a bit of advice for you.

Rape.

Mercy Killings.

Infidelity.

Forced marriages.

Dowry

I do understand that with QH you want to tell a story that's bigger than just romance and first love. But while this is very good for Indian Television, I hope you tread the grounds carefully.

What I want to see from QH is a mature story which deals with these very real issues in an emotional way that will make an impact on the audience.

Marium is a rape victim. And even if you're going to show her for five minutes I would like to see the character' s difficult emotions, the pain because women never(fully) recover from such a heinous experience.

Further Zoya was buried alive and for me that entire sequence was so breathtakingly emotional and I felt the horror and pain of both Asad and Zoya.

What I would like to see is the impact that has on Zoya again on a mental level. Like maybe a fear of enclosed spaces or something like that, you come up with it you're the creator.

Humeira' s suicide I hope isn't brushed aside. It shows how weak her mind is and knowing that India is on top of the list of suicide cases under 25, I think a social message from this angle would also be welcomed.

I can see that you have big plans and big ideas by taking up so many social issues. I hope that in due time (I' m not asking immediately or at the same time) you do come back to these issues one by one and actually give the audience something to think about.

Your Fan.

RC.

👏👏👏

What an excellent letter/post and such valid points. I feel that the writers and the public (including myself) have been so caught up in the issue of the romance that we have let some things slid as viewers. Even I was wondering how calm Mariyam was as a rape victim and Zoya's never showing any reaction or effect from her burial.

Humaira's suicide is also a serious issue that has not been called to attention.

The writing team has a lot of opportunity to touch on some serous social issues if they take the time out...and they can do it at the same time as providing us with the romance and drama they initially intended.

Now the question is, will she read it?

Very well said! QH is intense and much more than a romantic story. I would really like if they execute passing on such social messages effectively maintaining their essence.

The QH writing team has been good so far. Any one knows who they are?

As for Gul reading it.

Gul is my BFF, she'll read it. 😆
