Agreed the impact of Shyaam's betrayal to Arnav was perhaps a bit overshadowed by the impact of Khushi's apparent betrayal to him, but these earlier epis show the love and respect for this man in his eyes. You're so right he was the first man after his father he trusted, Mamaji may have been around but seems too busy to play a fatherly role...always wondered why Mamaaji was more of a side they why he was used to shape ASR, guess they had to do that so the ASR characters "did it all on my own" can take shape.

Thanks for the analysis. Speaking of Mamaji I think he was a very much level headed person and we see that he loved the children in his own way. In my views the Raizadas both Mama and Mami deserve an applause by the way they treated Arnav and Anjali; starting from indulging Arnav and his relationship with La, standing up for Anjali, giving a support to both Arnav and Anjali when they were thrown out of Malik house, even arguing with Nani in favor of the kids. He in his own way indulged them, even when Arnav Married Khushi he said in a very polite way to answer Nani. During the delhi mein bali he turned into the kids valet to make them happy. I think he had a subtle insight. In episode 43 the way he subtly disagrees with Anjali going to her own house was commendable. When Mami mentioned about the possibility that Shyam was two timing he did not negate but said that the rest of the house should not hear. It meant he had his doubts too regarding Shyam

thanks a tonne. the he she parts... i wanted to throttle shyam every time i read the words. about asr not seeing through shyam, to me even more than anjali not realising, his error of judgement was more stunning. but i guess that is what our psychology is all about. his love for his sister was so great and central. her happiness meant everything and the reason for her smile he decided to trust without thinking to much. that was the problem. ah well.

He asks about NaaniJi as soon as he enters, not missing a chance to show his "concern" and "love" for the eldest of the family.

Maamiji, with raitz(rats) running around in her tummy from hunger, asks if she can tell JP to get dinner ready. "maamiji, you guys go ahead and eat, we'll be right back," lovingly taking Anjali's hand and off they go to some "badiya rasam (wonderful ceremony)" the couple does every yr.

beautiful one today. i lau your delve into the ghadbad man's thoughts re shyam. his not being able to see through the man, his giving of love, respect, trust, his feeling perhaps the way he did the day he got di married 👏 👏 👏, and that emotional state (i too picked on that and it was delightful to see the relaxing of his facial muscles, feelings in his eyes, almost like a younger sibling, letting jeejaji take over the care of his wife, at the same time of course my heart ached and i contemplated smacking shyam with something blunt and heavy).

shyam's ability to deceive with love as you say is what we got to see much of. wish i liked abhaas more as an actor, would have liked it more. also, somehow shyam never reached the stature of villain our that was fit for our asr. too sneaky, too small a mind. though at thsi point it did look like he'd come up with something really big. never understood the baby killing thing, never condoned writers for it. MONSTER is right and not just shyam, anyone who could think that up and push it through.

fantastic lie spotting. and love the one that was not a lie. neat take. the vows section was revolting, wasn't it. liar in his soul our shyam bitwa.

they dropped that newspaper at the end. so there were always telltale signs of his deceit, wonder why? was anjali supposed to piece things together at one point or maybe later after he is caught red handed? would have been interesting to know why these hints were dropped.

The creators of this show were so clever! They bring us to the edge of our seats and then tell us to sit back! They don't reveal their secret of Shyam so fast. it keeps us hanging. His lie is safe.
The vows made me want to vomit I literally felt sick. Such deceit in his fake smile and his words were meaningless, no promise were made that day by him. The newspaper was just a little fuel for the fire that is to come. It lays down the first hints I think. I always felt that the Shyam track felt incomplete. There were so many loose ends and they just unraveled the story quickly and ended it abruptly. Too bad, there were so many possibilities for future story lines.

I wonder if Kushi was going to say something to her about her confused feelings for her demon or if her question was for real. She asks her sister about food. FOOD! That is our Kushi or is it our writers playing games with our head? Silly girl, young and naive. Since it seems that this is a morning of disclosure, Payal tells Kushi that she had already met Akash in the marketplace and thought he was just a simple guy. Kushi answers with he is good.
