Part 99

Coco stood transfixed at Arnav's dance, his moves, his expressions, the passion exuding from his body'. He was hot! Burning hot! Totally droolworthy!

She had made the right choice. As usual. He would be an exciting lover, and would leave that cloth-wrapped wife of his for her. The thought brought a satisfied smirk on her face as she stood balancing on one heel by propping herself against a pillar.

The Sangeet was winding up. Hugs were exchanged, good nights were wished, hands were shaken, namastes were said'.

Arnav saw off his acquaintances and the guests, standing by his family at the door. Only his family and NK's mother's friends were left. Theywere searching for Pinky Geelani's daughter. Maybe the girl had gone to use the washroom in the guest room, Arnav thought.

He turned to look at his wife. She was standing by him, laughing at something Anand Jiju's mother had told her. She looked so fresh, so happy'. She was glowing with joy. Arnav could not take his eyes off her.

Baba and the children left after hugging and being hugged by Khushi several times. Arnav had arranged for a bus from Mishra's to carry Baba and the children from and to Omkar before & after the function. The whole family went out of the house to see them off.

"Babaji!", Mami called. "Did you like my song?"

Baba remained silent for a moment, swallowed hard, and then said smiling, "I was astounded by your performance."

Mami beamed. "See, even Babaji thinks I sing well.", she told her husband. "You are the only one who does not like my singing. This is called Jealousy, Hello Hi Bye Bye!"

Mamaji looked at Baba, and Baba looked at Mamaji. They then turned away to hide their smiles.

As they neared the bus, Baba and the children stood shocked. A beautiful AC coach in the colour of golden laddoos waited for them, with 2 matronly ladies in uniforms waiting by it. The name 'Omkar' was written in a beautiful flowing hand across the body of the bus.

Baba turned to Arnav with a look of enquiry on his face. Arnav shrugged, disclaiming all responsibility with a smile. Both of them turned to look at Aarti. She slowly came to stand by them like a culprit, her face lowered.

Arnav looked away to hide his smile.

"Why?", asked Baba softly.

"For the children.", she said softly.

Baba looked at her silently.

"The girls are growing up.", she said softly, looking into Baba's eyes, taking hold of his hand. "It is not safe for them to'.."

Baba had to nod. Aarti pressed his thin fingers lovingly.

Aarti then introduced him to the 2 ladies, Veena and Vijaya, who greeted him with folded hands. "Both of them are certified drivers and mechanics, with an excellent safety record."

Baba greeted them politely.

"They are employees of Mishra's. They can take the children to their schools and colleges in the morning and bring them back in the evening. And take all the children on any trip you might fancy.", Aarti said softly.

"But the bus! It must be expensive. You must let us pay for it.", Baba was insisitent.

"I will, Baba.", Aarti said. "I will take the first copy of your next CD from your hands. A signed CD."

Arnav and the others burst out laughing. Baba sighed, smiling.

"Babaji, maan bhi jao. Aarti Bitiyaa has cornered you neatly. Now you will have to record another CD too!", Mami laughed.

"You can't beat her at negotiation, Baba!", laughed NK, pulling Aarti close to him in a fond hug.

Baba looked at Khushi. She nodded, smiling at him.

Baba looked at Aarti. She was waiting for him to accept her gift. Baba nodded, smiling. "Thank you.", he said.

Aarti hugged him gently. Baba touched her hair gently, blessing her. Nani, Anand & his family, Anjali, NK, his parents, Mama & Mami, Amma, Gopi Kakka, Buaji, Payal's parents, Akash & Payal, Khushi & Arnav'all of them smiled at the sight.

The children let out a whoop of joy and ran around the bus to inspect it from all angles. In the excitement, no one saw Nidhi making her way towards Aarti.

Nidhi hugged Aarti, and whispered "Thank you, Aarti Di." in her ear.

"I will teach you to drive when you are older.", Aarti promised softly.

Nidhi nodded, smiling.

Aarti flicked her finger against her rosy cheek, smiling.

Smita,😊

Here is the interpretation for Part 99.

"Our thoughts dictate how we feel; so it is important to recognize that we are as we think we are"

~ Jeremy Aldana

Thought.. Thinking... The mental faculty by which things become known or recognized play a tremendous role in our actions. That is what is seen in this update... COGNITION

Coco stood transfixed at Arnav's dance, his moves, his expressions, the passion exuding from his body... He was hot! Burning hot! Totally droolworthy!

"I felt like an animal, and animals don't know sin, do they?" ~ Jess C. Scott, Wicked Lovely

She had made the right choice. As usual. He would be an exciting lover, and would leave that cloth-wrapped wife of his for her. The thought brought a satisfied smirk on her face as she stood balancing on one heel by propping herself against a pillar.

"In love the other is important; in lust you are important" ~ Osho

The Sangeet was winding up. Hugs were exchanged, good nights were wished, hands were shaken, namastes were said...

Arnav saw off his acquaintances and the guests, standing by his family at the door. Only his family and NK's mother's friends were left. They were searching for Pinky Geelani's daughter. Maybe the girl had gone to use the washroom in the guest room, Arnav thought.

He turned to look at his wife. She was standing by him, laughing at something Anand Jiju's mother had told her. She looked so fresh, so happy... She was glowing with joy. Arnav could not take his eyes off her.

"Each time a man looks into your eyes, he is only searching to find himself; for he knows already, that he is part of you" ~ Jeremy Aldana

"Never lose a chance of saying a kind word"

~ William Makepeace Thackeray, Vanity Fair

Mami beamed. "See, even Babaji thinks I sing well.", she told her husband. "You are the only one who does not like my singing. This is called Jealousy, Hello Hi Bye Bye!"

"There is nothing so rewarding as to make people realize that they are worthwhile in this world"

~ Bob Anderson

Mamaji looked at Baba, and Baba looked at Mamaji. They then turned away to hide their smiles.

"Withhold a smile only when the smile can hurt someone. Otherwise, let it bloom forth in a riot"

~ Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration

As they neared the bus, Baba and the children stood shocked. A beautiful AC coach in the colour of golden laddoos waited for them, with 2 matronly ladies in uniforms waiting by it. The name 'Omkar' was written in a beautiful flowing hand across the body of the bus.

"If we have the opportunity to be generous with our hearts, ourselves, we have no idea of the depth and breadth of love's reach" ~ Margaret Cho

Baba turned to Arnav with a look of enquiry on his face. Arnav shrugged, disclaiming all responsibility with a smile. Both of them turned to look at Aarti. She slowly came to stand by them like a culprit, her face lowered.

"There is no wrong way to perform an act of kindness" ~ Catherine Ryan Hyde, Pay It Forward

Arnav looked away to hide his smile.

"Why?", asked Baba softly.

"For the children.", she said softly.

Baba looked at her silently.

"The girls are growing up.", she said softly, looking into Baba's eyes, taking hold of his hand. "It is not safe for them to..."

"There is no small act of kindness.

Every compassionate act makes large the world"

~Mary Anne Radmacher

Baba had to nod. Aarti pressed his thin fingers lovingly.

Aarti then introduced him to the 2 ladies, Veena and Vijaya, who greeted him with folded hands. "Both of them are certified drivers and mechanics, with an excellent safety record."

Baba greeted them politely.

"We are limited, not by our abilities, but by our vision" ~ Jonathan Swift

"They are employees of Mishra's. They can take the children to their schools and colleges in the morning and bring them back in the evening. And take all the children on any trip you might fancy.", Aarti said softly.

"Getting money is not all a man's business: to cultivate kindness is a valuable part of the business of life"

~ Samuel Johnson, The Life of Samuel Johnson

"But the bus! It must be expensive. You must let us pay for it.", Baba was insisitent.

"I will, Baba.", Aarti said. "I will take the first copy of your next CD from your hands. A signed CD."

"Well, you know, I was a human being before I became a businessman" ~ George Soros

"Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love" ~ Lao Tzu

Baba looked at Khushi. She nodded, smiling at him.

Baba looked at Aarti. She was waiting for him to accept her gift. Baba nodded, smiling. "Thank you.", he said.

"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder" ~ G. K. Chesterton

Aarti hugged him gently. Baba touched her hair gently, blessing her. Nani, Anand & his family, Anjali, NK, his parents, Mama & Mami, Akash & Payal, Khushi & Arnav... all of them smiled at the sight.

"Sowing seeds of kindness always reaps a crop of heavenly blessings" ~ Rebecca Barlow Jordan

The children let out a whoop of joy and ran around the bus to inspect it from all angles. In the excitement, no one saw Nidhi making her way towards Aarti.

"A hug is a great gift - one size fits all, and it's easy to exchange"

Nidhi hugged Aarti, and whispered "Thank you, Aarti Di." in her ear.

"I will teach you to drive when you are older.", Aarti promised softly.

Nidhi nodded, smiling.

Aarti flicked her finger against her rosy cheek, smiling.

"The best gifts come from the heart, not the store"

~ Sarah Dessen, Lock and Key

Coco who is after Arnav Singh Raizada, was in a daze after watching his dance with Khushi! For her he was the embodiment of Eros, Apollo, Narcissuss whoever was drool worthy! Her fixated mind failed to see that his love was Khushi-centric. It is said when obsessed our mind sees only what it wants to see and shuts down all the other preceptors!

"We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking"

~ Santosh Kalwar, Quote Me Everyday

We are addicted to our thoughts and that reflects in our actions.

"Don't believe everything you think. Thoughts are just that - thoughts"~ Allan Lokos, Pocket Peace: Effective Practices for Enlightened Living

When obsessed we fail to see what is in reality and that is what is happening with Coco! Seeing him do a romantic number with his wife, she who finds Khushi insignificant in her plan of things, thinks that he is a perfect material to be her lover! She is lying to herself by shutting Khushi out of the picture!

"That's the crazy thing about lies. You start to fall for them, yourself" ~ Jodi Picoult, Vanishing Acts

She feels she has sufficient wares to attract her Adonis and make him fall for her. She thinks Khushi as his 'cloth wrapped wife' who is insignificant in his life. Though she thinks her as a disposable item, the green eyed monster in her rises up!

"Have you ever seen the stars in the night? See them closely, they will tell you, how to be open, how to love and how to shine and twinkle without any differences and jealousy of other stars"

~ Santosh Kalwar, Quote Me Everyday

She has all these thoughts while hiding behind a pillar, balancing on a heel!

"Sow a thought, and you reap an act;

Sow an act, and you reap a habit;

Sow a habit, and you reap a character;

Sow a character, and you reap a destiny"

~ Samuel Smiles

Basically the thoughts of Coco were purely self-centered. The implications of her thoughts were to break a family. Her thoughts were so warped that she had not even paused to see what the other person who has been occupying her thoughts was thinking or was he thinking about her or seeing her at all! Her way of thinking was thoughtless. Her thoughtless actions resulted mostly in self goals! She did not even feel that her mother would be worried about her whereabouts.

Arnav Singh Raizada, who along with his entire family was seeing off his guests and acquaintances, found his thoughts dwell on his wife and sought her with his eyes. He saw her laughing with his Jiju's mother and he couldn't take away his gaze from the pretty picture she made.

"The face is a picture of the mind with the eyes as its interpreter" ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero

Baba and the children were bidding their goodbyes to go back to Omkar in the bus Arnav had arranged from the Mishras. While they were getting ready, Mamiji's question as to how he found her singing had Baba in a fix. Not wanting to hurt her, he cleverly phrased his words as

"I was astounded by your performance".

He applauded her performance and told the truth! Whereas Mamiji asked him about her ability to sing. Mamiji didn't realize how politely but subtly he had avoided answering her question. She turned to her husband and told him that, only he doesn't appreciate her singing whereas even Baba has admired her prowess! Though it made Mamaji and Baba smile they held on to poker face to avoid hurting her. This showed how thoughtful Baba was. So also was Mamaji!

"Politeness is the art of choosing among your thoughts" ~ Anne-Louise-Germaine de Stael

Coming near the bus, they had a surprise in store for them. There was an AC Coach with Omkar written on it's body and two matronly ladies in uniform beside it. This time Baba's Omkar was the recipient of the largesse of Mishras'. Their owner Aarti acknowledged of being the donor of the coach with the crew who would be ferrying the kids to their schools. She told him that it was for the safety of the children who were fast growing up. It was at their disposal for any trip they wished to take too.

"The wise man does not lay up his own treasures.

The more he gives to others,

the more he has for his own" ~ Lao Tzu

When Baba said that she should allow him to pay for it, she agreed but in the form of an autographed first CD of his next recording. Baba was overwhelmed by her generosity!

"Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Keep your eyes on the stars, but remember to keep your feet on the ground" ~ Theodore Roosevelt

This gesture of Aarti showed that, she is not only selflessly generous, but also thought of others who would enjoy the melody of Baba's singing. She bound him into doing a next set of recording! He who was reluctant to do so had to abide by her clever ploy of getting it done. So far he had obliged only Arnav Singh Raizada, his son-in-law. Now he has to bow to the wishes of Aarti, a replica of Arnav Singh Raizada, who is as skilled as Arnav in business and matches him in largesse! Baba is glad to succumb to this ploy of hers!

"The ancestor of every action is a thought"

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

While the rest of the children were busy checking out the bus, little Nidhi showed her appreciation of Aarti's gesture by hugging and thanking her Aarti Di.

"Children can feel, but they cannot analyse their feelings; and if the analysis is partially effected in thought, they know not how to express the result of the process in words" ~ Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre

Aarti reiterated her promise to teach her to drive when she is older.

"I believe that thoughts and feelings reside on the same nerve-ending... they are called heartstrings"

~Jeremy Aldana

We see, the entire update is filled with thoughts.

Selfish thoughts of Coco, Loving thoughts of Arnav, Polite thoughts of Baba, Reaching out Practical thoughts of Aarti, Thankful thoughts of Nidhi all make this update delightful.

COGNITION is what it is all about.

That's it from me. Hope you enjoy it!

Beautiful
What a thoughtful gift Aarti has given Baba and the family.
Loved the way she got Baba to consider recording another cd. Smart.

This story is a classic, reminds me of DDLJ.

Everyone should read it once but it's so awesome that you can't help but keep reading it again and again..
