Now before I start my topic let me say I ham a HUGE KG fan, and I love him...

so please no bashing 😳

Okay here is the thing, I am not liking Asad's behaviour in the past couple of Epis AT ALL. Neither am I liking Zoya's reactions to it. He is presumptions and hurtful to Zoya...I know that this is an Indian serial, but isn't this show supposed to be a little different? Its the same old powerful egotistical man and damsel in distress. The writers have created such a strong character in Zoya, but why can't she ever shut Asad up and tell him to LISTEN. Personally it seems like she is losing her spark just a little. I know we find possessiveness cute, but not to the extent that the woman feels suffocated. It is not his decision whether he wants Zoya back home or not, its her decision and she should freely exercise it . I feel that he is forceful and a little over the top sometimes...I know its part of his character, but I feel that he needs to find a more mediocre ground and stick to it.

Its just my opinion. I am a bit of a feminist which is why I wanted to watch the show. I was curious to finally see a liberal female protagonist who challenges the backwards mentality...but instead I find Zoya is regressing and becoming a bit of a typical heroine at times...so obviously Asad's behaviour towards zoya, and Zoya's less than fiery reactions have upset me. But I would love to hear your views !

I totally agree! In some of the recent scenes she barely stands up for herself while Asad berates her and I find this very out of character for her as in the beginning she was shown to be a strong, independent character and wouldnt take crap from anybody. I fee like she's become a shell of her former self and this sorta annoys because I was looking forward to a independent, liberal character. In my opinion she needs to tell Asad to shut it (nicely) and make him listen to what she has to say because this is the root of all their misunderstandings.

But after making posts similar to yours (about another show, though) and having it shut down merely because we the AUDIENCE demanded it, was an eye-opener. I don't want to be a part of that. I want to give CVs a chance, let them show the character portrayals the way THEY want to show them. Let THEM decide the way Zoya reacts; even if it is inconsistent sometime : ) Maybe, eventually, they'll realize themselves.

I, personally, don't feel as if she's lost her spark at all. I don't think she ever could, to be honest. Zoya isn't only the righteous, back-talking, upfront, 21st century woman, she is also a very kind-hearted, compassionate friend, which is what I felt from the Zoya-Mariyam conversation. So just because she didn't talk back to Asad today, didn't mean she wasn't 'Zoya' anymore.

As for Asad, well, if everything is fine and dandy with the characters right from the start, how do you expect them to grow as people? How do you expect the show to go on, if they've already got perfect behavior right from the start? The show's journey won't only be a 'love' one for AsYa, but also one of 'personal growth' : )

I'm sorry if my reply was offensive in any way...also...I think I went off on a little bit of a tangent there, so sorry : P

Not AT ALL offensive, I wanted a different perspective. I agree with you that she is very kind hearted, and what she did for maryam showed a lot of strength in character. Zoya is impulsive and caring, and I hope that she continues to be like that. I just wish when Asad had ripped Zoya's paper with her father's (potential) address on it, she would have reacted...most girls wouldn't take that kind of crap! My mom and I were both rooting pretty hard for her to slap him.

But I do agree that we need to let them grow...I did not consider it as a journey of personal growth, and I like that you showed me that perspective...I was just upset that Asad continually berated and hurt her and she didn't do anything about it. I hope they grow in the right direction and asad softens up a bit...lets see how it goes:)

I hope the CVs incorporate a little more of Zoya telling him off...because most girls especially foreign bred as they have portrayed her would never stand for anyone giving them crap. I really want to slap asad sometimes...but I hope they show a development process wherein he softens up and learns how much he can hurt people.

I agree to what you are saying to a certain extent but I think this subtle change in Zoya is consistent with her character. Earlier, she used to talk back and sometimes to the point of being rude with Asad but since he saved her life from the kidnappers, she has started respecting him more. She has also figured out why Asad is 'Mr Grumpy' and also realizes that he is otherwise a good man. I think that's why she doesn't always give it back to him. To her credit, she still does what she has to do. She hasn't compromised on her actions or principles. She has just toned down her rhetoric because she understands Asad better than before. On the other hand, Asad doesn't respect her as much as she deserves. I think this Mangalpur incident will change that also. Once he knows what she did for Mariam, he will not be such a big chauvinist.

What works, what sells is the main thing when it comes to fiction writing. Having said that, I agree that Asad is rude to Zoya, but Zoya is the only one who has stood up to him so far. She has told him on his face that his thinking is in 17th century, he is judge mental and all that stuff. Even though she is modern, liberated, she is kind and at the same time she has more of 'Tehzeeb' than what Asad gives her credit for. She would never slap him unless he crossed the limits of honor because she is a guest in his house. Plus, he tore the papers why? because she butted into his business even when he told her to stay off. So that way, I am okay with it.

I know people hate comparison, but comparison is what makes us understand the good or bad about anything. I was a big fan of IPKKND, but not Arnav as a character in the beginning episodes. He was so rude. I like Asad better. Yes, he has his own issues, but at least he is sensible in many ways.

Just my opinion that's all.

I absolutely agree with you...I never liked IPKKND truly completely just because of ARNAV's character! He tortured Khushi more than he loved her!
ASAD is FAR better than ARNAV in that sense!

this is what is anoying me with zoya character, i want her to tell asad shut the hell up and listen to me for once, he needs to b shocked.
Her being a western bred young lady i thought she would b a little more assertive n outspoken, but on the other hand i can understand this timid attitude of her with Asad, she knows that deep down he is hurting and is lashing out at her because she is the one closest.
I want the cv to incooperate a scene in which Zoya loses her cool and lay into Asad once and for all. I want to c them have a proper fight, maybe throw a vase at his head etc, something other than these childish squabble we c so often.
Overall i am liking the development of these character Zoya is easy to understand and love but Asad has a lot of layers that needs to b peal before u can c the real Asad, it will take a woman with a great deal of love and patient to understand him, hope Zoya is ready.😉

I understand your point however like everyone said, Zoya is not just who she appears to be in the outside. She is really a quiet, soft-spoken girl with a golden heart. Also, half the reason she doesn't tell him to shut up is because whether she has figured it out yet or not, she is beginning to fall for Asad and him for her. When your in love, every thing about that person, even their annoying little habits seems to be cute and something you just can't get enough of.
