too much focus on science?

hello

During Navaratri, i had been to someone's home. The kid there is in 8th standard while i am doing my 10th. In singapore, u have to choose the subjects u want to take for ur 10th board after ur 8th final exam. I take science though i also take a few arts subjects (english Lit and Human geog). The kid wanted to take arts but the mom wanted him to do science. The mom asked me to give him advice and I'm sure the mom didn like what i told him 😳😆😆

Anyway, do we focus too much on science?

Does the society focus alot on science?

Is it a misconception that those studying science are more likely to succeed and make more money than those studying arts?

Is it a misconception that only "stupid" people go and study arts?

And if so Why???

Arent arts equally important in education?

Science students vs Arts and Commerce Students

Is it a misconception that those studying science are more likely to succeed and make more money than those studying arts?
Nope.But don't u agree in saying science people need to make much more efforts than arts people.

Is it a misconception that only "stupid" people go and study arts?
Only Stupid people think so.Each subject will be beautiful only if you understand its beauty,everything is tough and everything is easy,it just depends on our thought.We should be tough on our ideas.


Arent arts equally important in education?
Definitely.But in this digital era all are bothered about net profit of anything we learn,in that way sciences may fetch us money little bit fast. we can settle fast in life.Reg arts all cannot be Raja ravi varmas,Picassos,Subbu Lakshmi's ,Amartya Sens,Arundhathi Roy's.

Giving advice is really easy but implementation is really tough.I may not suggest my own brother or sister or friend to take arts if he/she really has good interest and intelligence in Sciences.

I have seen in India and Indian parents do focus too much on science. Reason being in India average level for student is quite high. There is also lot of competition on professional level once they graduate. Considering that students with science background are earning more base salary than fresh art student.

yes. Indian society does. But in US I have not seen focus on science.

Well, to be frank fresh science graduate and fresh art graducate salary could possibly be similar, but then with science background wiht this IT/computer world there are lot of job opportunity and you can climb ladder more easily and fast compared to struggle art graducate have to make. So success depends upon what you call success in your life..if money is success for you, well yes, science give you more opportunity in today's world.

Yes. Definetly. It is a big misconception.

I personally think art is very important in your life. It bring out all good in you and develop creative side of your mind.
