Chapter 14
The next morning Swayam woke up and he was still feeling like he was flying. He was that happy that the dinner last night had gone well. It had gone more than well. He got to know another side of Sharon, the more personal side and if he was not in love before, he sure as hell was now. His little fairy was a jewel and for the life of him he had no idea how no one had snatched her yet. But he was no fool. He had every intention of snatching her and never letting anyone steal her from him.
He got ready quickly and went to the office. He made his coffee and as soon as it turned nine o clock he called the florist and asked again for roses to be delivered to the office this time. He carefully omitted to put a card on them so that the people at the office would not know it was him. But she would know, and that was what mattered. He knew she had realized that their table last night was the only one with red roses. They were especially for her. When his dealings with the florist ended he took out some files he needed to look and he started working.
A few minutes later Kria came into his office to hand him his schedule for the day. It was full of appointments. It would be a very tiring day but at least most of them would be held in Sharon's presence. Even the thought of her being in the same room with him, made his day look shinny. He asked Kria to inform Sharon that she would be needed for the ten thirty appointment and told her what files he wanted Sharon to bring with her. He hoped that the flowers would arrive by then. He wanted them to make her day like she made his. He knew he was turning all mushy but he realized for the first time in his life that for the right woman, no move was considered mushy.
An hour later Sharon was just finishing preparing the files Swayam had asked when Kria knocked on her door.
"Yes Kria, what is it?" She asked and Kria came in with a giant smirk on her face.
"Well these arrived for you."She was holding a beautiful bouquet of red roses. "It must be some secret admirer because there is no card attached to them." Sharon blushed furiously. She obviously should start wearing more foundation at work if she wanted to conceal her constant blushing.
"Oh my god you do know who sent them." Kria exclaimed. Sharon wanted to deny it but how could she do such a thing when her constant blushing kept confirming everything,
"It is just someone I met. Nothing to make a fuss about it. I am not sure it is that serious anyway." She lamely tried to downplay the whole thing.
"Ya right. With tis kind of flowers? Girl I don't even remember anyone bringing me that kind of flowers."
"Me neither" Sharon mumbled but unfortunately for her Kria had ears of a dog and could here everything from a great distance...
"Ha I knew it! He must be really special. Tell me everything"
"Kria. There is nothing to tell. It is not a relationship yet and I don't know if it could ever be one. Lets just leave it for now... if I have something more solid I will tell you. Really."
Kria made her unhappy puppy face but did not push any further. She sensed Sharon was in an internal battle over what to do. As soon as she left, Sharon took the flowers in her embrace and inhaled their smell. They were exquisite! She did not know what she would say to Swayam when she saw him less than half an hour later. She liked his thoughtfulness of not putting a card so that her co workers would not realize they were from him. Apparently her panic attack had convinced him that being the gossip of the office was a big no no for her. The time of their appointment was dangerously approaching and she left carefully the flowers on the side of her desk and finished arranging the files she would take with her.
When the time came she left and went to Swayam's office. Their appointment was not there yet, so she had the opportunity to thank him for the flowers.
"Goodmorning Swayam" She said mostly looking down. She was afraid that if she faced him now she would begin her blushing all over again.
"Good morning Sharon! Did you sleep well" Swayam said cheerfully. He was so happy to see her.
"Very well. Thanks you. I haven't slept this good in months" She had no idea why she confessed that to him but it was too late to take it back now. "Thanks you for the flowers. They were beautiful. But you should not have done that. You gave me flowers yesterday."
"You deserve each and every rose! I had a wonderful time last night, and it helped me have the best sleep I had in weeks too." He said and smiled wormy to her. By now she was not able to look down any more and she was captivated not only by his smile but also by his eyes that shone. Once again she was at a loss of words. Her weak moment was interrupted by Kria that announced their appointment's arrival. After that everything turned in a professional mode. Once again they worked well side by side. Even more today since after their evening together the previous night, they already seemed to communicate on another level, which proved pretty valuable in their dealings with their clients. Swayam was impressed by their level of communication since he had not managed to reach that level with his previous assistants even after two years of working together side by side. He definitely had a jewel in his hands.
When it was time for lunch break Swayam once again left Sharon go reluctantly. He would have found some silly reason to keep her with him an share lunch with her in his office, but he wanted her to solidify her plans with the girls for the weekend, so that he could make plans for them.
Sharon went with the rest of the girls for lunch as usual. They all seemed to know that she had received flowers since the beautiful arrangement was too big to go unnoticed as the delivery boy brought it to the company. She did not feel good at being the center of their attention, but soon enough she realized that their questions and teasing was kind hearted and that they were happy for her. That calmed a little bit her fears but she was not sure their attitude would be the same after they realized that the man behind the flowers was their boss.
During lunch they arranged to go to the cinema that night, so that everyone had their weekend free. Most of them had boyfriends and they wanted to spend it with them. Sharon felt a little bit jealous of them having someone in their lives and wondered if Swayam would ask her again to do something this weekend. They also decided to go for drinks after the movie and Sharon agreed with that since it was Friday and she would be able to sleep late the next morning. When lunch was over, all of them returned to their posts and the rest of the day past away quickly. She had not heard again from Swayam and although she knew that he was on meetings, she got a little bit depressed that he had not asked her again to do something during the weekend. She was wondering if it would be a right move of her to go and tell him about her plans for tonight so that he knew that she was free afterwards, when Kria called her and told her that Swayam wanted her in his office. She did not know if it was for business, but she decided that she was going to tell him about her plans no matter how bold that move seemed.
"Swayam, you asked for me?" She said as soon as she entered his office
"Yes, I am done for the day and I will be leaving soon, as will you I assume."
"Yes, there are some last things I want to check, but I believe I will be done in half an hour or so. Don't worry I don't intent to charge you overtime." She teased him
"Oh please do! Whenever you have to sit late, I want you to make note of it so that you get paid in the end of the month." He said seriously
"Relax Swayam. You look offended as if I said that you are a bad boss. I was teasing you back there." She gave him one wicked smile and he instantly relaxed.
"Yes we did!" she said enthusiastically. "We made plans for a Friday's night movie like we had already said and additional plans for drinks"
Swayam's face instantly dropped. She had made plans for two nights. That meant Friday and Saturday. That left only Sunday for him and she would not want to stay late because Monday was a work day. Well he was not going to stay away from her for a whole weekend.
"OK then. How about we go out for lunch Saturday and then you can go for drinks with the girls at night." he proposed.
Sharon looked questioningly at him for a moment and then she smiled and said: "No no you misunderstood me. We will go to the movies tonight and for drinks afterwards. Not on Saturday."
Swayam laughed. "My bad, sorry. So you are free for the weekend?"
"Yes I am free" she said shyly.
"Great there are tons of things we can do. We can go on a shopping trip Saturday morning. I want to buy some new clothes and I would really like your opinion. Then we can have lunch and rest for a while. I have tickets for the opera for tomorrow night. Do you like opera. If you don't like it I can give them away and we can go somewhere else."
Sharon was looking him wide eyed. "You want us to spend all day Saturday together?"
"Eeergh. Sorry I came on too strong. We don't have to do all that. We can do whatever you want" he said sheepishly
"It is OK. I would like us to this things together. You just took me by surprise that's all" She said silently. So silently he barely heard her. But that did not matter. What mattered was that she said yes.
"Great. So what time do you want me to come by in Saturday?"
"Well, I think that we might be late with the girls tonight. So why don't we say around nine"
"Sure sure. I will come by your place to take you."
"OK I'll see you tomorrow then" she said and started to leave. Before she had the chance she felt Swayam's hand touching her shoulder and stopping her.
"Have a nice time with the girls tonight." He said and he bended and kissed her lightly on the lips. "And no heavy drinking without me around" he added seriously and Sharon turned a bright shade of red.
"That was an one time thing. It has never happened to me before" she said accusingly.
"I believe you. That does not mean I don't feel the need to stake my claim" he said and kissed her passionately. Sharon would have melted in a paddle on the floor if he had not held her from her waist. She returned his kiss not thinking for one minute that someone could walk in on them. Swayam ended the kiss and touched his forehead to hers. "I will be counting the hours for tomorrow" he said and let her go.
Sharon almost run from his office without saying anything. She was afraid that if she stayed a little bit longer, she might attack and ravage him. She packed up her things and left. There was no way she could continue working after that kiss.
A/N: Please do not keep on pesturing me for updates because even I am a student like most of you all and even I do have to study. I cannot keep on updating everyday it is affecting my studies.. I hope you all understand I do not mean to sound rude but please understand. I know you all do the hard work of spamming and thank you all for it but I have my study schedule which I cannot avoid.
