Sooraj buys books for Sandhya. A stranger takes Sooraj's autograph and photos. He puts forth a proposition to Sooraj regarding his sweet shop but Sooraj rejects it. Santosh and Mohit go to the market to buy vessels. Santosh sees Ankita selling water purifiers. Meenakshi discards the medicines prescribed by the doctor and takes the herbal medicine Vedhrani had sold to her. Vikram buys sweets for her but she refuses to eat because of her fast.
Sooraj plans to take Sandhya to Ajmer for her admission in the evening college but he gets delayed as his vehicle breaks down on the way. Meanwhile, Sandhya goes to the temple with Santosh for deep daan. Dhaisa brags about her daughter-in-law to Santosh and criticises Sandhya for being slow in her work. Sooraj secretly helps Sandhya to light the oil lamps. Santosh praises Sandhya for lighting all the 151 lamps faster than Dhaisa's daughter-in-law and gives Sooraj permission to take her out.
Sandhya thanks Sooraj for enrolling her for third year in the evening college in Ajmer. Sooraj gives the identity card and books to Sandhya and encourages her to attend the class. Sandhya takes a step towards the classroom but she suddenly remembers her promise to Santosh and decides not to attend the class. She asks Sooraj to forgo her dream for the sake of Santosh. Sooraj asks her to attend the college and hide the truth from the family. However, Sandhya refuses to deceive Santosh.
Sooraj gives Sandhya 2 days time to think about resuming her college studies. Meenakshi becomes curious on seeing Sandhya's new bag containing her ID card and books. Chhavi thinks that Sooraj gifted the bag to Sandhya for Dhanteras. The family sits in the dark due to power cut. Sandhya repairs the fuse and brings back the power when Mohit fails to do it. Meenakshi is excited about Roop Chaturdashi. She teases Chaturi for being dark. Sooraj keeps a study table in his room for Sandhya.
Sooraj makes tea for Sandhya while she sits at the study table, amazed by his love for her. He sees her sleeping with a pen in her hand. Meenakshi wakes up on the morning of Roop Chaturdashi with rashes on her face. Vikram tells Santosh that he had seen Meenakshi drinking the entire content of a tonic bottle all at once. Meenakshi lies to Santosh that it was milk and not medicine. Santosh makes homemade face pack for her. Sooraj admires Sandhya while she dries her hair. He gifts her a watch.
Vedhrani sees Meenakshi in Vikram's saree shop. Meenakshi gives her sarees for free to hide the truth about her treatment from Vikram. Sooraj sees the tailoring machine Santosh had bought for Sandhya on the study table. Sandhya asks him not to bring up the topic of her studies again. The Rathi family exchanges Diwali wishes. Sooraj informs them about Mr. Singh's offer to pay him 80,000 rupees per month for 5 years in exchange for the rights to his name, recipes and methods of sweet preparation.
Sooraj's family encourages him to accept Mr.Singh's proposition. Santosh has misgivings when Sooraj informs them that he will have to close his shop for the next 5 years if he accepts the proposition. Sandhya believes that Sooraj will be unhappy if he does not get to prepare sweets. She asks Sooraj not to give up his dream for the sake of more money. Sooraj refuses to touch his ladle until Sandhya resumes her studies. Mr.Singh asks Sooraj to sign the contract after the Lakshmi puja.
