Aamir Khan severs ties with father


Last week, Aamir Khan sent out a public notice in the various trade magazines, clarifying his association with his father, producer-director Tahir Hussain. Normally a private person, this visit to the laundry from Aamir came as a surprise.
The notice, released by Aamir Khan's lawyer C B Wadhwa, read somewhat like this: Public are hereby informed that my client Mr Aamir Khan, a cine artiste, is not associated with the business of production of cinematographic films of his father Mr Tahir Hussain Khan or of a private limited company known as TV films Private limited, or of the firm of Tahir Hussain Enterprises or with the company or concern known as AL-Tahir Entertainments, also carrying on business of production of cinematographic films or with any other company, concern or firm of the said Mr Tahir Hussain Khan or with any other business of the said Mr Tahir Hussain nor liable for or concerned with any of the financial or other dealings of the said Mr Tahir Hussain or the said companies. Any party dealing with the said Mr Tahir Hussain Khan in his personal name and/or in the name of the said TV films Private Limited will be doing so at his own risk and my client shall not be liable for any such dealings.

The message was clear. Aamir did not wish to stand by, or take responsibility, or be associated with his father in any professional manner. And he wanted the world to get that right. There was obviously more than what met the eye.

Relationship between the father and son had been strained since Tahir Hussain married an employee of his own company, a girl much younger than Aamir's old man. That happened a few years ago, since then the rift seems to have only widened.

Tahir Hussain in the recent past has announced a film with newcomers and is planning to make four more films. That must have shaken up Aamir and prompted him to sever all professional ties with his father, lest any liabilities fell on his shoulders.

Aamir Khan refused to speak on the issue, his office stated that the notice had said it all and that there was nothing they wished to add to that.

I don't think Aamir Khan is the type to make such a notice unless there was significant concern about his name being used in his father's company that he is somehow associated with them nor would he want to be held liable if that money investments failed. Add to that he didn't make any other comments just that he wouldn't be held financially responsible.

Didn't Amir have multiple relationships while married to his ex-wife and then settled for one of his assistant directors?

It's funny because Sunny Deol holds a grudge against his father for marrying Hema Malini to the point that he didn't even show up to his half-sister's wedding but he himself is seeing Dimple Kapadia while abandoning his family.
