In 2006, MALAAMAL WEEKLY came and turned out to be quite a surprise success! Now, 6 years later, comes the second part: KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL.
What is quite interesting to see is that Paresh Rawal is in both of the films releasing this week: this film and OH MY GOD. However, he has promoted OH MY GOD much more than this film.
Honestly speaking, for a film like KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAMAAL, it can be quite hard to predict it's box office outcome. There are positives and negatives, which could make the film tilt in either direction.
First, the positives! The biggest thing of course is the fact that this film is the second part to the appreciated and successful MALAAMAL WEEKLY. The director is the same too: Priyadarshan. He's the leader of the franchise, and knows what he has to do. Also, there are actors too in the film who have on several occasions demonstrated strong script sense: Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Om Puri, Shreyas Talpade, etc.
Now , for the negatives! One thing about the film is that the film seems to have a low-type of buzz. There hasn't been much promotion for the film. Perhaps, the makers want the word-of-mouth to do the talking, but let's not forget, that OH MY GOD is also releasing this Friday, and not only does that film carry more buzz, but that film also has a strong chance of being appreciated. Also, another thing that can't be ignored is that the director of KAMAAL DHAMAAL MALAAMAL, Priyadarshan, has not been in form for his past few films. His past few directorial ventures such as TEZZ, AAKROSH, KHATTA MEETHA, BILLU, etc all sank without a trace at the box office.
Basically, this film can go either way! I will go in the middle and predict "Average" status since it can go either way (good or bad).

Opening Day: 4.50 crore net
Opening Weekend: 13 crore net
Lifetime Collections: 30 crore net
Overall Box Office Verdict: Average
