Are Karishma and Kareena a pain in reality shows?

The Kapoor cousins have dominated the idiot box these few weeks. Barfi has already made a more than sweet impact and Heroine has lived up to the promise of unfolding Bollywood's dark secrets. So naturally Ranbir and Kareena Kapoor made appearances almost back-to-back on the same shows. Like for instance when they made an appearance on Indian Idol, where Ranbir cheekily confessed that his sister Kareena was a heartbreaker and would announce the results.

This was followed by Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and even Comedy Circus. But clearly, it is Ranbir who instantly connects with viewers. He is simple, unfussy, concedes to all demands be it dancing with the contestants or teaching Bharati how to woo Savio on Jhalak. Not that Kareena is cold but she is too busy playing herself, the slightly haughty heroine — the body language is not very friendly.

And yes, accompanying Ranbir everywhere were Priyanka Chopra and Ileana — who barely spoke and smiled sweetly most of the time. And since TV channels love to cash on on current controversies, Colors decided to project Karan Johar and Priyanka's cold war on the dance show. So, it began with Priyanka wishing Karan coldly and two pretending to share cold vibes till the very end, keep the speculation alive about their apparent spat. Now, viewers are not fools to expect two big filmi personalities battle it out on national television, even if they can barely tolerate each other.

One has never really understood the logic behind stars extensively promoting their movies on top shows on TV. Sure, the channels benefit with higher TRPs but does it really impact the box-office results? Karisma Kapoor promoted Dangerous Ishq quite extensively on TV but that surely didn't bring the audience to the movie halls.

Ranbir is fortunate. His mind-blowing performance is the hallmark of Barfi. And while the world might gush over Priyanka's performance, people who work with special kids will tell you that some of the gestures were exaggerated. But Priyanka is fun on the shows. She dances with abandon, chats with audience and is hugely popular…That plays a key role in endearing the viewer to a star. The Kapoor sisters need to let go a bit of their starry persona and chill. Every time a star does that, it may or may not translate into a film's success but it will certainly earn them brownie points from fans.

its better than faking interest and acting all in your face enthusiastic which most celebs do, but it looks so fake!
