Is barun sobti Hindu Punjabi or Sikh Punjabi

Hi people

Just a question- I have some friend who have the surname Sobti but are Hindu Punjabi.
Also in interviews Barun said it was difficult for the families of him and his wife to initially agree to the marriage and I wondered if it was because his wife is sikh and he is hindu- which is why they married in a gurdwara ie for his wife sake.

He also carries the Mahabharta in his gym bag and on you tube video they showed his appartment which has the swastika outside it. Indicating that he may be hindu punjabi

My sikh friends says they dont read the mahabhata or give rakhi on raksha bhandan- so could he be Hindu punjabi .

Sobti is also from the khatri cast in punjab and tend to be hindu punjabi.

it seemed all very interesting as many articles just assume he is sikh as his wife is and they married in a gurdwara...makes no difference to me as i love him either way but found this interesting

U know na he married in gurduara it mean he is sikh haa haa but where is bagdiii n even virat also sikh without bag...

Dont know about his wife .. but he is a hindu punjabi ... for sure ...

Sikh ppl name r different from Hindu names don't they? Like kulvinder, mandeep etc where as barun is a Hindu name and his cousins name are Hindu too like gaurav, harshit etc. I think he is a Hindu and his wife is a Sikh..her name sounds like one atleast. Hope this post is not offensive to anyone

my son is called gaurav and we are sikh punjabi, don't think it matters really

He is a Sikh, but some Sikhs believe in Hinduism as well. I am a Sikh and my entire family is Sikh, but we follow Sikhism and Hinduism as well. But we don't cut our hair.
