Just saw the movie. A ho-hum thriller that never reaches its peak and settles for far less than its promising premise. The story had the potential to be another Andhadhun, but what unfolds on screen is far from interesting.
The film starts on a thrilling note when two young twin sisters witness a murder being committed by an unknown man. He kills one of the sisters, while the other manages to escape from the crime scene. The surviving sister eventually grows up to become an assassin, eliminating several targets.
Although the basic premise is intriguing, the film fails to hold your interest after a point. The story never truly takes off, making it a chore to sit through. The pacing is sluggish, and the screenplay lacks the gripping moments one expects from a thriller. Instead, it offers boredom wrapped in an insipid drama.
There are also several subplots that feel completely unnecessary. The love story between Huma and the Punjabi guy adds nothing to the narrative. Her decision to leave the world of crime after marriage also comes across as clichéd. The twists are predictable, and you can see them coming from a mile away. Even the identity of the main killer fails to surprise. The twist involving Chunky Pandey’s character in the climax feels forced and unnecessary. Moreover, the way Huma eliminates her targets often looks like child’s play, making the action sequences difficult to take seriously.
Huma is quite good in her role. Playing a deaf and mute woman with conviction, she conveys a great deal through her expressive eyes. Chunky Pandey delivers a decent performance, while Sikander Kher is his usual self.
Overall, Baby Do Die Do is a ticket to boredom. Despite an interesting premise, it never delivers the thrills it promises.

You can always catch it on OTT later. It’s not worth a trip to the theatre 😝
