It was a story about two best friends who literally shared everything together. Right from childhood they had made plans and promises to spend their entire lives together. These two kids had created themselves a whole new future that consisted of each others companionship and support. When this future was brutally snatched from them, they trapped themselves. They forever stuck themselves in a time when they both loved each other. Where they waited for each other. They grew up and time moved on. But they weren't able to let go of each other. When they both met each other again, it was the inner child that spoke. It was the inner kids that sprang out to finally be reunited with their long-lost friend.
When Neeti was leaving with Vivaan, it was then that time finally caught up with her. Unknowingly, she had moved on with her life when she got married. It just took the opportunity of leaving with Vivaan to finally realize who she truly loves. In fact, it was necessary for Vivaan to return for her to come to that conclusion. Why? Because, Neeti had never been apart from her husband for a long period of time. I can bet that after Vivaan had left as a kid, she was never with another guy. She must have gotten straight into marriage and was with Akash ever since. And also when Akash had mentioned him leaving for a couple of days, Neeti jumped the chance to be with him. Clearly, she has never been far away from him to fully realize his importance.
Another matter which has been pricking me is about all the complaints regarding Jennifer's dialogues. I personally don't see what the problem is. We can tell that since childhood her character was a bubbly, vivacious girl. But in the present she is not. Why? Well, maybe it's because she has been traumatized. Don't forget that she saw her brother be engulfed in flames right in front of her. That is more than enough reason for her to go into trauma. She became more reserved and coy and only spoke when it was needed of her. And that was more than enough for me to appreciate her character.
I for one am glad that Jennifer got this TMLS. For if it was someone else, they just won't be able to emote the feelings, message as she did. Forget about the dialogues. Just look at her eyes and you can clearly tell what she is feeling. The pain, the anguish, the sweet memories, the cherish of fond memories, they were all emoted so well by her!
If anything, then yes I would have liked the TMLS to have been more longer. The extra minutes just could have done wonders for it! The extra editing and proper polishing would have made it one of the best. But nonetheless, this was done fairly well.
There is just one thing that I am unclear about. Some of you members had mentioned the two couples to be victimized. I understand how Vivaan's wife was treated unfairly, but what about Neeti and Akash? From Akash's behavior, I can fairly conclude that he really loves her. So how is Neeti victimized? Or did I mistake it and you all had actually meant that Akash is the victim?
Either way, Jennifer did a brilliant job as Neeti. 👏
