TOI: When two women made GC dance on fingertips

After showing off his acting chops, Gurmeet Choudhary is all set to try something he may not be well-versed with.

The actor has put on his dancing shoes for Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (to air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm). A die-hardMichael Jackson fan, Gurmeet's wish is to dance to MJ's Black or White and try his famous moonwalk.

Though not a trained dancer, Gurmeet is hoping to perform better with every passing day with the help of his choreographer Shampa. "I am not a trained dancer but with lots of practice I can dance well. My strength as a dancer is the energy I bring into every performance," says he. His partner Shampa opines that his outlook towards dance, enthusiasm and hard work can take him a long way.

Gurmeet might have his biggest supporter in Shampa but criticism for him comes from the most unlikeliest person, his wife Debina Bonnerjee, who also happens to be his pillar of strength. "One fine day Debina joined us in the rehearsals and it was the most disastrous day for me as these two ladies made me dance on their fingertips. Ek taraf Debina, doosri taraf Shampa aur beech mein main akela Champa," says he.

According to him, people are of the opinion that he can dance which he feels isn't true at all. He says, "Everyone thinks I am a dancer, which isn't true. The truth is I practice a lot and wherever I can, including the sets of my show and even the washroom."
