as said in my previous comment here, everything in this FF speaks out rather shouts "damn awesome thing to read" ... character sketch, prologue, story material, title of the FF, heading of each chapter, siggie, writing style, EVERYTHING
every character is having their own identity & mind it Sara is 'first time' loving each character, me hardly love anyone beside my Maneet ... i have lots of buddies who are expert in making me go insane *Aashu, Anshru, Bindu, Safi, Jazzu, Kathie, Sneha, Mandy, Marvee, Shreya, Simi, Zey, Reya, Naina, Osheen, Soma, Sarzu, Sadie, Sneh, Aqua* *Mel, Ruchs, Nishu, Anu, Saru, Mahi are there too but the "improving category"* *Sara, concentrate on Mimi's work or else she will kick you so hard*
okies *resuming*, where to start from ??? ... hmmm, i loved the concept ... the thrill mixed with love of Maneet *although in little ratio but according to other thrill work, i have read till date, it is really superb* ... every character is richly suspicious here ... you can't simply put finger on anyone specially when you are aware of their status & cunning nature ... just like many other, me too was having doubt on "Damien" but the latest part proved me & others wrong ... i mean right from starting, me too was having doubt on him ... those SMS, that dead body, the numbers of dead ladies for those "Secret Keeper" SMS, his fight with everyone specially Maan, his sudden "vanishing" act, the fact that he was the only one who was so close to these 6, the video on "Gwen", that mascot ball party, A to Z ... it all pointed to him but now what ??? ... my 6th sense is telling me that it is realted to "Gwen" coz now "Damien" part is of no use coz of his death *can have some twist in future but for now, simply useless* ... me not having the full idea coz we all are unaware of the exact past but guessing is no harm, no ?? ... either "Gwen's" some really close person is doing all this OR any person who hates each of these 6 & is having some secret of theirs OR both the things OR both with other thing includes OR none of this but simply any new angel ... "Damein" part is the proof that we have to read it & guessing by our own will not help ... beside, "Adrian" & "Brandon" part is also signaling something more ... and then those "Sen" sister, we don't know much about them too, "Adrian" & Maan's mysteriously change relation ... actually, to think properly, every character is still having mystery along with that night incident ... but loved the way you show Maneet comfort scene in all this ... the scene where Maan was adorning Geet when she was yelling at some girl at the club for the shoes, where Maan was "sweetly" shopping with Geet, where Maan shouted at "Adrain" for yelling at Geet, where Geet shouted for Maan at mascot ball part, where Geet held Maan close out of fear & all that
in total, me loved it
i hope this will make you happy coz Sara have not written such long comment in her 4 years of life on IF

Part 6: Thirteen

"Damien is dead' DEAD! The one word was enough to snatch the land from their feet. On the very evening detective was at Adrian's penthouse to enquiry.

"why you have to interrogate us again?" Maan said looking sharply towards Martin. "we were already questioned so many times."

"hmm.. but this is a murder case now. We have to start questing you from the beginning." Martin replied casually. "so lets start?"

All were ready to giving answers again "before starting I have another thing to say" Martin spoke taking a look on everyone. "you can't go out of the country while investigation is going on."

All were shocked but it affected most on Adrian. "What? Are you serious?" He almost shouted.

"Yes Mr. Ivashkov. I'm. Please co-operate us in our work. I will take only an hour of yours." He answered looking directly in his eyes. He said seriously and started to question..

"What happened Ivashkov? I'm the one who's gonna miss an international tournament." Maan said looking at him. "what happened to you?" But his question was ignored.

"Maan.. Why he reacted like that?" Geet whispered in Maan's ear. "like he wanna get out of the country as soon as possible. It creates a big problem for him."

"I don't know. Ask him why he behaved like that. He always behaves strangely." Maan whispered back.

It was same questions and they gave the same old answers. But a question made them dumbstruck. They lost their control over themselves.

"the same old boring answers." The detective nodded negatively in disappointment. "we have found him in central park. He died for excessive blood loss. It was like some one has beaten him badly." Maan was shocked to hear but he also knows that he didn't beat him that badly. Their fight lasted hardly two minutes. Unintentionally his eyes fell on Adrian and Brandon. They looked at each other for a sec with confusion but didn't react at all and within a sec they went back to their poker face.

"I was thinking if this story has another angle. Just wondering if the mysterious death of Gwen is connected with the death of Damien somehow." The detective spoke in a very low but strong voice. All were stunned for a sec they were looking at each other but Adrian's behavior make them even more surprised. "yes Mr. Martin. You're absolutely right. Both deaths have a connection. We killed Gwen by drowning her into water, we killed Damien by beating him badly. And you know what I desperately want to do now? Killing you right here right now." All were taken a back seeing his strange reaction. Maan decided to come forward and take the matter in his hand. "Mr. Martin I hope you're done with your questioning. Beside you said you only take an hour and already two and half an hour went."

"I am done for today." Detective gave a sneer and left.

"Adrian have you gone crazy?" As soon as the detective left they heard Nicole shouting.

"Yeas I have. He just said I can't leave the country." He said in irritated voice.

"but this was only way left to shut the mouth of that f**ker." Said Brandon laughing sarcastically.

"why you're behaving like you wanna run away from the country?" Maan asked frowning.

"cause I really want to do that. My plan was to shift in Dubai the next week." Adrian heaved a sigh.

"you didn't tell us." Geet said sweetly.

"I have only told a few close friends.. that's why I arranged the trip in a short notice." He sighed again.. "Hey am I looking like the frustrated teen who saw his girl friend having sex with his best friend in a kiss on the lips party?"

"No.. not exactly." Maan cleared his throats. "you're looking like your father had cut you off. You've no money left n you have to sing in a cafe in order to earn money." Maan grinned.

"well then my condition is worse than that." He replied leaving a sigh.

"my condition is worse." Brandon said leaning on the sofa. "election is near and the new drama started. I would have given a party to celebrate the news but Damien trapped me into another problem."

"guys take rest now." Maan cleared his voice. "and it's my request please at least inform one of us if you're going any where."

"well I'm going to a party tomorrow but sorry can't tell where.." Adrian was going to continue but Maan spoke in the middle "it's a rave party so you must keep the place a secret. Ok enjoy."

Maan and Geet decided to sit on the met steps on their way back to home.

"Are you busy tomorrow?" Geet asked sipping from her starbuck cold coffee she was carrying.

"yeah! A lil bit. Actually have to start my practice again. And one of my teammates arranged a small party.."

"ok.. you're not free tomorrow."

"but I've always time for you." Maan wrapped his arms around her shoulders.

"you're such a flirt." Geet smiled coming closure to him and gave a small kiss on his lips. "lets go. Gotta go home. I'm really tired."

"lets take a walk to home." Maan stand up and helped Geet to stand by offering his hand.

"are you going to Damien's funeral on the day after tomorrow?" Geet asked while walking.

"I don't want to." Maan replied dryly.

"Maan please. Press will be there if you don't go they'll make another story on your absence."

"don't worry I will. Don't wanna leave you there to be bore." Maan winked.

"I have to go to shopping yesterday. I have no LBD to wear on the funeral." Geet pouted.

"wow! You wanna buy a dress to attend funeral."

It was a busy day for Maan. Practice then the party. It was nearly 11.30 at night when he returned home. He took a quick shower to wash away his tiredness. Quickly changing into a trouser and a blue tee shirt he turned on his laptop. He opened his email id to find so many emails from Geet, Naomi and Nicole. He started to explore one by one. He opened Naomi's email first. It was a video tagged part one. Then he opened the next email from Geet. Again a video tagged part two. He started to download the videos. He got thirteen videos and arranged it according to the numbers.

"unlucky 13. God knows what's the girls have planned." Murmuring to himself Maan smiled and started to watch the video.

After half an hour going through all the videos Maan's jaw tightened. He called Geet.

"Geet at my place as soon as possible and pick the Sen girls with you." Without hearing Geet's reply he cut the line.

Within a few minutes the girls were there.

"Maan it's better be 911 emergency or I'm gonna murder you." Said a half sleepy Naomi.

"Girls your email ids are hacked." Maan said looking directly at them.

"Hacked!" they were stunned. "how did you know?"

"thanks goes to secret keeper. N I'm gonna show you a short film." He turned the laptop screen towards the girls.

After a few minutes..

"so what should we do now?" Asked Geet with a shaking voice.

"Call others." Maan gave a short answer.

"I've left my phone at home." Naomi spoke softly.

"use mine." Nicole throws her phone to Naomi.

Adrian's is switched off." Geet said cutting the line. "may be busy at the party."

"Guys Brandon's phone is ringing." As Naomi said all became silent.

It was enough to spoil Brandon's mood. Buzzing his mobile at the mid night and that too a call from Nicole.

"what?" Brandon picked up the phone and said rudely.

"are you busy?"

"yes. I was. What do you want?"

"what were you doing?" Naomi questioned back.

"If I were a vampire I would be busy to suck blood but I'm a human. So what can I do in mid night?" He replied more harshly.

"I don't wanna disturb you but Maan wants you to come at Maan's right now." From the voice Brandon recognized it's Naomi not Nicole.

" Naomi? I'm sorry for shouting.. but now? It's 12.30."

"just come here." She cut the line.

Almost at 1 o' clock Brandon arrived at Maan's with a foul mood.

"I had paid 700 dollars for tonight. Can't you start your drama in the morning? My whole night wasted." Said a disgusted Brandon.

"you can pay her 700 dollars for any night. We've to contact Adrian too. You know how to contact?"

"call him." The tension was rising in the room. "you make me come here to ask this stupid question."

"we don't know where is he and his mobile is switched off. Just give to the point answer. How to contact him now?" Maan said fuming.

"call on this no. he said to contact here if it's emergency."

Maan made the call. Some random guy picked it up. After a few minutes the line was handed to Adrian.

"Ivashkov come at mine right now." Maan ordered.

"Ohh! Are you nut? I'm high on he**in now. I can't even sit on driver's seat let alone driving." His words were not so clear proving it he wasn't lying.

"I'm gonna pick you up. Tell me where to go." Maan answered back.

"now? Is it that much needed?"

"just tell me where to go." Maan repeated the same.

Guys wait here I will be back as soon as possible. As soon as Maan cut the call he grabbed the car's key and left.

After half an hour Maan stopped the car near Jones Beach Park. Usually one hour is required to cover the 33miles but at the midnight the highway was empty.

He was tapping the stirring wheel after a few minutes a Toyota dropped Adrian there.

Silently he sat on the passenger seat without saying a word Maan started the car.

"what?" Adrian questioned "why did you call me now? Was it an emergency?" but Maan ignored all of his questions. Adrian slammed against his seat frustrated and within a few seconds he was half asleep.

Maan was driving as fast as he could but the condition of petrol made him stop at a petrol pump. He was going to come out of the car but Adrian stopped him. "stay." He came out of the car and put the pipe in the tank and leaned on the car noticing the only half asleep man was present there. Maan came out to pay the bill and stand next to him. After a few minutes the tank was fulfilled. Adrian brought the pipe out of the tank as they heard a voice.

"Don't move from where you are. I've gun with me." From the corner of the eyes they saw a man in his mid 30s. and he had a gun. He was standing a few hands away from them. "don't move. Just give me your money and none will be harmed."

"Ok, calm down." Maan said calmly. "let me take it out."

"move. Hurry." The man's hold on the gun became a little bit loose.

Almost in no second Adrian spill petrol all over the man and the small distance between them and lit up his lighter.

"you B**tard." The man shouted pointing the gun at him.

"before shooting me I would advise you to take a look on you." He said with a poker face. "I can burn you before you pull the triger."

"whoa.. you're just a psycho b**tard." The man literally ran away.

Sighing he put the pipe in proper place just before getting into the car Maan spoke with a disgusted expression "I knew it.. you're a bloody murderer."

"what's wrong with you? Are you high on drugs too?"

"just get in the car."

The rest of the journey was awfully silent.

Near 3.30 they reached Maan's. Geet and Nicole were half asleep. Naomi and Brandon were watching TV.

"so should we start what was the emergency." Brandon said switching off the TV.

Maan played the video again.
