Karan Johar: No scope for me to be naughty at 40!!!

Today, Karan Johar turns 40. It's a landmark date for him because it marks nearly two decades of his meteoric rise as a filmmaker and an entrepreneur. "It's also a landmark date because nothing has happened in my personal life," he says, adding, "I'm hoping the new decade will embrace me personally, allowing me a lot of 'me' time."
According to Karan, the cliche of getting naughty at 40 doesn't hold in his case, because he hasn't really 'been there, done that' in all this time. "In the last 15 years, I've just been going from one film set to another, busy making cinema I believe in or hosting my TV show. Honestly, there have been a lot of professional milestones. I wake up each day grateful for the fact that I'm in this industry. I laugh, cry and dream with my movies. I've enjoyed the fashion, the aesthetics, and the scale of the productions. However, my personal life has been zilch. I'm hoping to change that as I blow out the candles this year... sorry, I withdraw that statement! This birthday, there will be no cake or candles. I want nothing cliched. Instead, I want the 40's to consume me," says Karan.

KJo adds that his grand party later this evening is meant to be a fun-filled one. "Mum ( Hiroo Johar) and I are an intimate family. And since I have no siblings, some of our friends are like family." Yes, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan are in that special space, he admits.
"The reason I want to celebrate today with my friends and family is because I can't think of another occasion that merits this kind of mood and indulgence. I'm not getting married, so turning 40 is a good enough reason to kick off my shoes and dance!"
