Manoj Bohra leaves India for his engagement ceremony without informing the Kasautii... unit

TV actor Manoj Bohra and model-turned-radio jockey Teejay Sidhu got engaged in a low-key ceremony recently. The couple has been dating for more than a couple of years now. "The event was attended by just family and friends," says a source. In his excitement to formalise the relationship, Bohra rushed to Canada, Teejay's home country. He obviously didn't think that it was necessary to inform the creative team of his show Kasautii Zindagi Kay about his absence.
Naturally, it triggered off unpleasantness between his co-actors. "There were certain problems between the actors of Kasautii... It's a big show with too many big names involved. We can't afford to let go of any actor without prior notice, as it plays havoc with the script," says Doris De, creative head of the show.
The entire team of Kasautii… was inconvenienced as the show was supposed to take a leap of five years this week. "We had to re-work the story and the script. A lot of us were upset as Manoj did not inform us before leaving. Apparently, he had only casually informed one member from the creative team, who forgot to convey the message to the right people," says our source.
When producer Ekta Kapoor heard this she was furious with her team. "I got to know much later that Manoj had left for Canada to get engaged to his girlfriend. Look, my concern is that my actors' personal life should not hamper the show. But it's all solved now and I'm told that he will be back," says Ekta.
Doris says, "Manoj will resume work from this weekend. It was a case of miscommunication. The entire team had to suffer because of Manoj's carelessness. This confusion could have been avoided had he kept me in the loop. But now, things should be back on track by next week. Manoj is still in Canada and hopefully, we'll start shooting soon."
Kasautii Zindagi Kay is all set to take an interesting turn after the five-year leap. Doris says, "It'll have suspense, emotion, drama, comedy all rolled into one." The first episode of the new Kasautii… will be telecast on July 28.
