The early morning sun rays shone brightly on Geet's face.She felt as if it was a new beginning for her. The things which seemed dull to her for suddenly seemed interesting for her.She took greater care to dress up today.She even had a tiff with herself regarding which dress to wear.Finally she decided on a pink patiala.She sat in front of the mirror again debating which hairstyle would suit her.She was just about to comb her hair when she saw Maan's reflection on the mirror standing behind her.
She gazed at him in awe.A little surprised but more happy.A smile graced her face.He walked upto her with a glint in his eyes.He bent down & placed his face slightly above her right shoulder.
"Your hair smells good!" he said teasingly
"Shut up Maan!"
"Let me comb your hair!"
"Your joking right?My hair is long,you won't be able to manage it!"
"That we will see!First close your eyes!"
"But Maan--"
But he was not going to listen.He placed his palm on her eyes & then slid his palm down her face.Her eyes closed.The sensation of his touch was retained by her face.Her heart missed a beat.
"If you do any mischief then you are gone!"
"If I arrange your hair properly,then what will I get?" he asked with a smirk.
She did not reply.Se sat still while he ran his hands through her hair.She didn't know what was going on.But Maan was around, it was delightful for her.After sometime,his voice was heard by her.
"Okay now open your eyes slowly" he placed his hands on her shoulder.
Excited she opened her eyes.But rather she was disappointed.Her hair was in a mess,she looked like a sanyasi.But she felt that she was not angry but she was supposed to be angry!After all it was her hair!
"Maan!!!What the heck have you done!!My beautiful hair!!I will not leave you for this!"
She turned around to look at him but no one was there behind her.Shocked,she again faced the mirror,her hair was untied,it was tidy.It was only then when she realised that she was dreaming!She placed her palm on her forehead & exclaimed,"Jhalli...kahin ki!!!"
"Chalo now let it be!I will be late,then he will shout!"
Maan was waiting patiently in the car.The events of the previous day arranged themselves before his eyes.He didn't know how would she behave now.Just then he saw Geet walking with quiet steps towards the gate.She had worn a pink suit unlike the usual jeans & top that she wears.Her hair tied in the pony slided forward & two strands of hair coming on either side of her face which hung mid-air due to the mild breeze.Her eyes were darkened by a neat line of kaajal & light pink coloured lipstick graced her lips.The cool breeze was blowing & her little brown eyes met his.She had never failed to charms her.What amused him more was the fact that she looked angelic in whatever she wore.In every outfit,she carried herself with grace & elegance.He later pondered whether it was really the case or it is only him who sees her beauty in everything.He lately remembered that he was not supposed to let her influence him.He pretended to not acknowledge her presence.
Geet was hurt but then it was relevant after whatever happened the previous day.He was bound to be angry.She was thinking how to start conversing with him.Maan did not even open the car door for her.She sat beside him still he did not take any notice instead signalled the driver to start the car.
Maan tried his best not to look at her & also almost succeeded.Geet tried ways and means so that Maan talks to her but all her attempts were shown the door.She even attempted a fake call from her phone but Maan dogded that too.Latest cellphones & their useless features!,she thought.The situation was getting on her nerves.Finally,she sat still with anger.
"Aaj ka din hi kharab hai!Now what else can be worst than Maan ignoring me?".But there was more to come,when they reached office,Geet was in for a shock when she saw Supriya waiting there for Maan. Supriya approached them as if all ready to hug Maan tightly ignoring Geet completely.
Maan escorted Supriya to his cabin while he almost closed the door on Geet's face.He was very happy that he was able to get rid of Geet's thoughts.Geet was able to see what was happening in the cabin through the transparent glasses.
But she least bothered about what they were doing inside because she knew Maan was not interested in Supriya.Geet tried her level best to attract his attention but nothing worked out.She later decided to start her project,she took every detail of the working from the staff time to time casting a glance towards Maan.She saw him and Supriya busy with a laptop where Supriya was clinging to Maan's arm and was giggling.Geet's mind was partly on her project & partly on Maan & Supriya
Fed up,she tossed her pen in the air,an employee caught it by chance & gave her a questioning look.
"Now my turn!Just wait and watch what I do!"
Geet stormed inside the cabin.Maan & Supriya both were surprised.Geet looked straight at Maan & said, "I have been collecting details about working of an MNC,shall I read it out?"
Maan sensed that Geet wouldn't take no for an answer.He did not reply but just nodded.Geet cleared her voice & spoke.
"A multinational company is a place where one behaves more personally than professionally with a client..."
Maan was shocked.He didn't know how to react to this sentance.Same was the case with Supriya.Geet was satisfied that she had successfully raised two pairs of eye-brows.She continued
"...where the client & the M.D share a tiny laptop due to scarcity of electricity with the distance between the two humans is lesser than a quarter inch.In other words,they are directly in skin contact... "
Geet paused.There was an awkward silence.Maan glared at her with what-the hell-is-all-this look.Supriya distanced herself from Maan.
"GEET!!!" Maan was angry. But Geet was not going to stop.She continued with a smirk.
"...and the other employees are barred from entering the cabin which raises slight suspicion whether the M.D & the client are really discussing something professional or..."
That was enough for Maan.He got up & banged the desk angrily.
"Enough is enough Geet!Stop this nonsense!" he turned to Supriya,"I apologise on behalf of her" He again cast an angry glare at Geet.
"But why should you apologise to her when I am there!" She turned to Supriya,"I am sorry if I said anything wrong,I have written whatever I have seen" she said with a streak of innocence.
"Buhot ho gaya!Go from here!"
"But Maan--"
"I said Leave!!"
"Fine!!!!"
Geet stormed outside."This girl will make me mad!" he sat on his chair while Supriya watched Geet as she walked out...
