Geet was surprised to see Maan in her college next day, sitting in her class on her bench. All the students had surrounded him.But as the bell rang everyone went back to their respective seats.Maan made Geet sit next to him which raised a lot of eye-brows.
"What are you doing over here?" she whispered to him
"I have come to attend a lecture like you" he said with a smirk
The teacher entered the class.She took the attendance & finally started teaching.Throughout the lecture Maan kept staring at Geet while she took notes.A little later she noticed that Maan had been gazing at her all the time.She almost blushed.She looked at him & then looked at the blackboard.
"Maan,please look in the front! What will others say?"
"Let anyone say anything.Aaj toh hum yaha aapko hi dekhne aaye hai " he said seductively & caught her hand under the bench.
"Maan! Leave me!Koi dekh lega" Maan ignored her plea.
Towards the end of the lecture, the prof asked a question to a girl student. The student answered but the prof said it was wrong! But Maan interrupted in between
"Sir, no doubt it is the right answer.She has said it to the point." everyone looked at him.
The teacher realized that Maan was right & excused himself telling he was just testing the pupils. Geet shot a very angry glance at Maan.She placed her palm on his fingers & held it tightly.
"Why did you take her side?You are not supposed to say anything for any other girl! Am i clear!!!!!!" she said sternly
"Don't worry.Hamara dil toh aapke paas hai" he said with mischief playing in his eyes. That seemed to satisfy her.
In the evening, they went to a beach with Geet clinging tightly to Maan's arm & placing her head on his shoulder.The sun was just about to set.It looked a large ball of yellow light.The sky was light pinkish & waves playing in the sand.A beautiful sight indeed!
Geet loosened her grip around him. She was surprised when Maan knelt down before her.His magnetic eyes on her.She was mesmerized.Then he took her hand & planted a kiss on it. Geet was having butterflies in her stomach.Then came his voice
"Geet you can't even imagine,I am so crazy in love with you will you marry me?"
She was numb. Maan Sing Khurana going down on his knees & proposing her!!!.She thought that he would never do that & she herself had to propose him.She shivered in excitment.
"Maan..."
The alarm clock kept near her ears buzzed.She woke up with a start. She saw that she was almost hanging from her bed.Still sleepy, she mumbled "Morning dreams come true..." . When she was back in her senses, she remembered what all happened last night.She sighed.
"No use crying.Raat gayi,Baat gayi"
Maan sat in his car waiting for Geet to show up.After all he wanted to give her a surprise.He did not sleep much the entire night. He was tensed about certain things...the conversation with Geet about the burnt factory...as if she had seen it happening...would she talk more about the incident,he didn't know... No one knew the real climax of the incident...not even his dad perhaps...only he knew it...and maybe Dev...or maybe even Geet knew it.
He noticed a motorcycle parked on the other side of the lane opposite Geet's house.He had never seen it in the neighbourhood before.Just when he was about to start the car,an unexpected sight greeted him.He was left wide-eyed when he saw Geet coming out of her gate with a man.He had worn a blue & white half sleeves checked shirt with a black jacket over it with usual jeans.His hair was slightly coming on his fore-head and he wore a stylish spectacle which enhanced his black eyes & also his features.All in all, an affable & good-looking guy!.Maan could make out his name being Karan by Geet's lip movement. He had some files in his hand & was telling Geet something but she laughed .He given her a serious look but she gave him a friendly punch in return on his cheeks.
That was it for Maan to get red in anger(or absolute jealousy).What was this guy doing with her so early in the morning?. Geet did not look behind to notice him in the car.He rang her but she cut the call.This left him fuming.To add to that. He saw Geet sitting behind Karan in his bike,holding him from behind & driving off. Maan's fingers tightened around the steering wheel as if he would break it.Karan's phone calls & mere mention of his name disturbed Maan,let alone his appearance. He followed them to college.
"How can Geet be with Karan!!!!!!!!!How can she!! Karan you are gone-" his eyes depicted murderous rage.
Karan & Geet reached college.The atmosphere was a bit different.The students were excited about something.
"Karan,Is there something special today?"
"You don't know?" Geet seemed vague, "Akriti had requested The Maan Singh Khurana to come to our college when she had met him.Even our princi showed interest & guess what he has accepted it.But the thing is we did not expect him to come today itself,it's indeed a huge surprise"
Geet's heart missed a beat. So the dream was making it's way into reality.She was nervous
"Pata nahi yaha aakar kya karenge?Kya kahenge"
They were in the college campus itself with all the other students when they heard three cars drawing up.Minutes later they could see Maan before them accompanied by two bodyguards.The students were told to maintain discipline whilst the principal & the profs welcomed him.Maan eyes were searching for Geet in the crowd. He saw her standing in a corner with Karan.Their eyes met.But Geet suddenly caught Karan's hand & moved out from there. Maan couldn't bear to see that,he was burning.When everyone was present there to welcome him,those two were alone with eachother,away from all... but he was helpless at that moment.He pressed his fists tightly.
Karan,on the other hand was surprised to see her behave like this.
"What are you doing Geet! Why did you pull me out from there,i wanted to see him...aur hum jaa kahan rahein hai?"
"He would not change in appearance if you don't stay there...aur waise bhi have you forgotten that you are the Student Representative,you have to present him with flowers in the auditorium...so just chill"
Karan was even more surprised by her manner but he was satisfied by what she had just said.
All the students had assembled in the auditorium except for Geet & Karan.Maan was restless at not seeing her.He constantly peered at the entrance. One of the profs even inquired whether anything was worng but he excused himself.He finally saw them entering with Karan having flowers in his hand.
"Are you sure I will be able to give him flowers on the stage?" Karan asked Geet nervously.
Geet placed her hand on his shoulder & assured him, "Don't worry,he is not going to eat you up!".Karan inturn placed his palm on her fingers & gave her a weak smile
Maan seeing this was fuming from inside.He partially tore the paper which was in his hand & almost knocked down a glass of water!.Finally the principal announced the bouquet of flowers to be presented to Maan by Karan.Maan at once shot a baleful glance at Karan.The poor guy was already nervous,Maan made him shiver.He thrust the flowers to Geet & told her to go to the stage instead.Geet was stunned
"But why I--" Karan pushed her forward.The principal gave an anygy stare at Karan but Maan looked pleased so he calmed down.
Geet looked at Maan.He smirked at her.Yeah! he won!...again!,she thought.Her heart started beating fast.She walked upto the stage to Maan as everyone watched them.She gave him the flowers & the entire auditorium clapped.Suddenly Maan caught her hand tightly hid by the flowers.She stared at him not knowing what to do.Her heart was beating more faster.She tried to withdrew her hand but h didn't let her to.
"Leave Me! Koi dekh lega!" she whispered.
"Dekne do!I have come only to meet you!" he said with a smirk.
The principal signalled her to move out from the stage but she stood there helpless.
"What are you doing?It doesn't matter to me why you have come here..." she said sharply.
Maan was shocked.He loosened his grip & Geet quickly went down the stage. Maan regained his composure.He gave a short little speech & Geet was hiding in the crowd not once looking at him.
Maan later again phoned Geet. This time she picked it up
"Kya hai?"
"Geet,I want to meet you!"
"I am busy,sorry!" She rang off.
Maan didn't understand why Geet was behaving in that manner.Why,all of a sudden Karan became important to her? No one had dared to ignore Maan before.But this time,he was not angry but jealous as Karan got more preference than him.For the first time MSK was jealous of anyone...
As he was about to enter the lift to go to the principal's office,his eyes fell on Geet passing through one of the coridoors.There was no one else there!. At earliest opportunity,he grabbed Geet by her arm,pulled her inside the lift,pressed some number & stopped the lift between 2nd &* 3rd floor.
It happened so fast within a fraction of a second that Geet did not realize that she was pinned to a coner of the lift.She could feel his hot & fretful breath on her face. Geet was ready to capitulate to each & every action of his. She madly loved him.His thoughts & his presence made her lose her senses of what she was doing or talking. With great difficulty,she put up a decorous behviour to him.
"Geet, I know you are angry about the party b-ut i can explain myself" He tightened his grip around her.Since morning,he had been restless of getting closer to her
"What party?Mujhe kuch nahi pata aap kya kehe rahe hai" She made no attempt to look at him fearing she would turn weak.
Maan was hurt.He placed his finger below her chin & made her face him, "Don't lie I know you were there yestarday..."
Tears were building in her seeing Maan dancing with that girl
"Listen Mr Maan Singh Khurana!!It's your problem if you had seen me there! I don't have the world's time to think about you & to tail you! You went to the party,right?Fine! I can imagine what you must have done there! What's the big deal?You are wasting your time in here!Have you forgotten you have a company to run?." She pushed him away.
She pressed the 3rd floor button.Maan again attempted to come near her. "Please go from here before anyone comes to know about us!"
Geet walked out of the lift with fast steps.The lift again closed with Maan inside it with an air of scepticism.
