It was a bright monday morning when Geet walked inside Khurana Constructions.She had spent nearly double the time,she took for dressing up.But she was not satisfied.She could have done her hair better or even worn more matching ear-rings...!. She was widely surprised when the staff addressed her as 'Mam' instead of 'Ms Geet' treating her as if she was some queen.She cast an astonishing look at everyone but she was devoid of an explanation.
Her excitement turned into nervousness as she stalled outside Maan's cabin peering inside through the glass. He was speaking on the phone seeming somewhat angry.So someone had not done their work properly,she thought.But he looked even more hotter & sexier when he was cross which weakened her again.She saw that coffee was being taken inside for him,she offered ti take it to him instead.
By the time Geet entered the cabin with coffee in hand,Maan had rung off. As soon as he saw Geet,his anger vanished & a smile crept his lips.He was standing next to his chair with a smirk on his face & watched her,his eyes directing Geet towards him.Geet was feeling uncomfortable as she sensed his eyes ceased to leave her. The way he glanced at her left currents in her entire body.Maan was feeling unconscious within.He forgot everything as his eyes concentrated only on her.
"C-Coffee" she said softly as she handed him the cup.But he held her fingers instead of the cup-handle,his eyes refused to leave her.Her hands ran cold,she didn't know how many times her heart beated with each passing second.She tried to retreate but her bracelet got stuck in his watch,& seizing the moment he pulled her towards her.He was dazed as he locked eyes with her.He slowly kept the coffee cup on the desk & then wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her even more closer.Her heart raced more faster,she could feel the warm blood rushing throught her veins.He smiled at her impishly.It was very hard for him now to hold himself back which he had done for quite some days now.He looked at her in a way that he had never looked at her before.Geet didn't know what was going on but she was ready for whatever that came her way.He put some strands of her hair which came on her face behind her ears.Geet felt his sensual touch.She held him tightly which triggered him even more.Her breath halted as he lowered his face closer to hers.His lips were just about to touch hers when she suddenly felt a wave of fear & she moved away from him.Maan was startled at her sudden retreat.Geet couldn't imagine what had just happened.He was almost going to kiss her! Really! Was he attracted to her as she was to him?She looked at him again & saw that he was still looking at her intently.She felt embarrassed of backing away at the last moment.
His phone rang,the sound was loud in the iced silence.She ran out of the cabin.Maan came back to his senses."What had happened to me?".He hurriedly picked up the phone. Geet ran outside & and did not stop until she found a suitable corner to hide her dark red face.She was breathing heavily.She wanted him to kiss her!She closed her eyes & the events were playing in front of her.It was a first time she had got intimate with a man.She didn't know how she would face him now!.She decided to calm down,as nothing would help now.She was able to avoid him all morning but could not help but cast a sideways glance at him. Finally during lunch time,he cornered her.
"Kya hai?" she did not look at him & was about to go from there.But Maan came in between & blocked her.
"I thought that we were having lunch together after skipping breakfast!" he said in a mischievous manner.
"I don't want to eat! Mujhe bhuk nahi hai!" she said looking away from him.
"Aww...dieting doesn't suit you!"
"What do you think of yourself!" She faced him pretending to be irritated.
"I am Maan Singh Khurana & on a serious note you have not eaten anything since morning,so stop this & come with me! Because of you,even i had to starve!"
Maan realized his mistake.He was not supposed to say that!.Geet went quietly after him.
Geet felt a little better after lunch.The awkwardness had taken a backbeat.She later followed him to the storeroom.It was dark inside. Geet was about to fall but Maan caught her in his arms.She was again lost in his playful smile.He whispered her huskily "Careful Lady!" which sent shivers across her body
"Not my mistake you should have switched on the light first!"
The lights were on.Geet walked across the room.Suddenly, her eyes fell on a cracked photo frame which rested in a corner.She went ahead & picked it up.It was dusty.She removed the dirt while coughing & saw the two people in it...
Maan looked at her.He saw the frame in her hands.His face changed.Geet watched him keenly
"Maan,I have met all your family members except your brother Dev & his wife Rhea.Aapne unke baare mein kuch nahi bataya.Where are they?"
Maan knew it,sooner or later she would ask again about Dev & he had to answer her.He could handle such things calmly.
"Dev & Rhea are in Canada right now" he said firmly.
"I did not know Dev was married & that to small time actress Rhea!"
"They married one year ago but they were dating since three years.Dad opposed to the marriage but dadima had no problems..." he said without any expressions.
"And what about your views of Rhea?A beautiful woman she is!"
"She is a light-headed girl.I don't know how she fell for Dev. I mean...she could do well in the film industry!"
"She married him for money then!"
"Nope,she had fallen crazy for Dev.Infact,she loves him more than Dev does.She even abandoned her career for him...love can do wonders!"
"I see...her love is terrific!"
"The thing is that she had sacrificed herself for Dev.Dev's every wish is her command!" he said still expressionless.
"Every man wants a girl like her who could do everything under the sun for him..." She said in a mild tone,glancing at the photo which had Rhea clinging passionately to Dev. She realized that she had fallen in the same manner for Maan.
Maan did not say anything.He went away from there.He didn't have anything to do with Dev or Rhea.Geet again looked at the photo.
When she entered his cabin,she heard him speak on the phone
"yes ofcouse i will be there..." he rang off.
"Are you going somewhere?" she asked him
"Yes,to a village outskirts of Delhi.I have made a development plan for them."
"May I come with you?"
"Are you sure you will come with me?" he said with a smirk.
"Any problem if accompany you?" she said in a teasing voice.
They both laughed.
