Geet was given the VVIP suite of one of the most famous hospitals of Delhi.Her room hardly represented a hospital room except for the bed & a few apparatus kept near it.Geet had heard about the hospital many times in news channels when filmstars or politicians or other VIP'S were addmitted into it.And now she was over here...apparently for no reasons at all!!!The doctor stood beside her scribbling something on his writing pad & nurse stood smiling all the while looking at Geet which irritated her a lot!
"Doc,I am completely alright,why can't i be discharged?"
"Jab tak Mr Maan Singh Khurana naa aa jaye,you can't go anywhere,the police commissioner tried to tell Mr Khurana that nothing has happened to you but he cut the call!" the nurse was still smiling.
Maan reached the hospital in no time.His heart was racing with his steps.He was happy that Geet was found but in what condition...he didn't know.He dashed everyone who came his way.Even his bodyguards couldn't keep pace with him.
Geet was alone in the room exploring the walls,she hated the hospital uniform to the core.It gave her the patient-like feeling which was quite irritating.She also felt scared of Maan,how he would react & all.But why would he react.He would just question her casually where she was,she would give the answer,probably he would glare at her angrily & that would be that.
Just then Geet heard a big bang on the door & the next moment she could see Maan barg inside.Their eyes met.It was such a silent moment as though the whole world had come to a standstill.They could hear the wind which dashed slightly against the window.Geet was shocked to see Maan in the manner which she had never imagined him to be.His eyes conveyed the amount of grief & pain that he had been suffering from,they were moist...His body seemed weak to even collapse like he had not eaten since ages.Geet didn't know what to say or do,she kept staring at him.
Maan was welcomed with the feeling of relief.He was right...nothing could ever happen to Geet because she was his.There was a sudden outpour of happiness in his heart.She was fit like before. The next moment he rushed towards her & covered her with his intense hug.Geet missed a heart-beat.Maan was hugging her!!!,was she dreaming again?She was slow to encircle her hands around him.They stayed for a good few minutes like that until Maan ensured that she was really alright.
Just then the doctor walked in.
"Nothing has happened to her.She is completely fine!" said the doctor,smiling.Maan & Geet broke the hug with Maan turning to face the doctor.
"Then why was I told that she had an accident!" said Maan shocked.
"I was about to tell you that nothing major happened" said Arjun as he walked in, "but the call was disconnected!" he paused , "Ms Handa was driving on the outskirts of Delhi.Just as she reached the highway,she lost balance & the car tumbled down in a pit with her in it."
Maan couldn't believe what he said.He shivered as he heard him speak.Arjun continued, "...but,you can say it was pure miracle,that she put off the engine of the car right before the car fell in the pit."
"Yes ofcourse!" said the doctor, "If she hadn't used her presence of mind then the car would hav caught fire, phir...kuch bhi ho sakta tha."
Geet was being given kudos by everyone,she felt really proud of herself but when she looked at Maan,he displayed no signs of appreciation.
The doctor continued, "She just suffered a few minor scratches & nothing else, you can take her home."
Maan thanked Arjun & the doctor & Geet was again left alone in the room with Maan.Geet noticed that Maan's face had completely changed,he hardened but his eyes still displayed the same amount of pain.
"N-Now the c-car needs servicing-"she said softly partially looking at him.
"Chup!!Bilkul chup!Tumhe jo karna tha,tumne kiya!Now listen to me!" said Maan in a loud & clear voice.Geet got scared
Maan continued,"I will tell you something & ask you something!!!"he paused.Geet shifted her gaze to the floor "First! your driving lisense is suspensed for a month!!"
"But Maan-" Geet protested in shock.
"I did not complete my say!!" he glared at her,"You owe me an explanation for your deeds!!Why did you do this?Speak up!" he asked in a broken voice.
"W-Woh actually...my results...I have just passed by one mark because of the project.I-I was shocked & dejected...so i just wanted to be alone--"
"Do you really think I am gonna believe your lame excuse??You really are not that type who would go on a sucidal mission just because of failing in the exams!! If you really wanted to roam about alone,ek phone call karne me kya jata!!!?But no!Ms Geet Handa does only that which pleases her,she doesn't cares about anyone!!"
He held her tightly & pulled her towards him,"Tumhe pata bhi hai what lot I have gone through just because of your insane act.Agar tumhe kuch ho jata toh !!!" Maan again shivered at the thought.
"Fine!! I admit my mistake! I should have told my parents but why are you so worried ?.It was never the case before!!!"
He held her more tightly.She winced in pain
"Everything has changed Geet!!Everything!!Why can't you understand!!!"
"Why are you behaving like you care for me because we both know you don't!!" Maan pulled her closer, "Ouch! you are hurting me!!"
"You are hurting me by saying those words!!!!Do you really think I am faking??" said Maan in an almost strangled voice"Why can't you understand or have you chose not to understand that I--" Maan stopped failing to utter that last two words.Geet was numb.She stared at him in disbelief.She had never seen him in such trauma.
"Maan,I am really telling the truth,i was sad because of the results!" she was almost tearful.
Maan released her & moved backward, "Forget it Geet!Leave It!Tumhe koi pharak nahi padhta what others go through! At first you really had said that you don't care and today you proved it!!!" he completed in a broken voice.
He left her in shock.She understood the gravity of the situation.Maan genuinely felt hurt by whatever she had done.For the first time,she felt & saw Maan's undying concern...towards her that even her parents had failed to show...She never imagined in her wildest dreams that her disappearance for sometime would bring in so much grief to Maan..But is that really possible... he had not completed his sentance...
Maan waited in the car for Geet to come so that he could reach her home.It was evident for him that she did not care for him.She used him for her pleasure,the thought pierced his heart.His phone rang. His Dad had called.
"Maan!Where the hell are you?I hear that you did not meet the clients!"
"Sorry Dad.." he said in a broken voice.
"Why are you sounding like that?Where were you?I am pretty sure Geet is behind all this!"
"No dad,my fault."
There was deep silence then Yash spoke ,"As we are a reputed firm,the clients will meet you tomorrow & this time nothing should go wrong!" Yash rang off.
Geet came & sat in the car.They drove way.They did not speak at all on the way.Finally they reached.Maan stopped the car & waited for her to get down
"You have not told my parents anything...thank you.."
She waited for him to reply but he did not answer.Geet got off the car.But instead if parking the car,he drove outside the gate. Geet was left wondering where he was going...
It was late at night.Geet was sleepless.She stood by the window waiting for Maan to return
"Why can't you understand or have you chose not to understand that I--"
His words kept ringing in her ears.
"Maan,aap ne toh mujhe mushkil me hi daal diya.Why did you leave your sentance midway & went away?.If you would have told me what I wanted to hear. then this evening would have turned blissful than ever.I know my mistake.What to do I am so foolish na! That's why I still have doubts whether a man like you can ever love a girl like me!I really want to know what is in your mind?What kept you back Maan from expressing your mind?Today I saw my reflection in your eyes,I just want to clarify whether I am right...aur dekho na!now that you are not here,i am sitting her,pacing to & fro wandering,guessing whether you love me! " she smiled to herself.
Just then she saw Maan's car drawing up.The driver opened the door for him to emerge out but he had to support Maan to stand up!Very unusual...thought Geet. She raced down the stairs to see what the matter was.She asked the driver what had happened.
"What to say Madam.He has taken a high dose of alcohol.This has never ever happened before."
Geet was shocked.She told the driver to take him upstairs to his room.
