Happy Holi to all of you.

In Karnataka they have a unique way celebrating today. It is called Kammanna sudodu. Translated it means burning Kama- negative likes and desires. All the boys in the neighbourhood will collect combustible waste from each house and invite all the families to participate in the burning in the evening. They collect this from a week and pile it up such that it looks tall. All the areas vie for the best burning arrangement. Exactly at 7:30pm the burning begins amid shouts and as the last cinders die puffed rice, sweets are distributed. Before it is lit, a pujari performs the pooja and the youngest and oldest along with a teenager together light the pile😃. As the burning is on full force a judges panel quickly goes from area to area to see which is the best pile burning.

In all this the condition is no harm should take place to any property, person or trees.

Feels great to belong to a country that is this varied.😊
