Liliput: Destroyed by Fanaa

Actor Liliput is quite displeased with director Kunal Kohli and Yashraj films for the film Fanaa. No, he is not a supporter of the anti-Aamir brigade, but claims that the plot of the film has been taken from a film that he had registered with the Film Writers' Association in 1990. Liliput is raged and says that the characters of Kajol and Rishi Kapoor are from his story. "I don't know how the script reached Kunal, but the fact remains that the story is mine," accuses Liliput. A film titled Shahadat was started in 1990 with Naseeruddin Shah in place of Kapoor's role. But due to some financial problems, it was shelved within a few days. Liliput added that he got the shock of his life when he saw Fanaa, as his film was going to begin in July again this year. In the mean time, Kohli clarifies that writer Shibani Bhatiza came with the idea and that Liliput should speak to her before accusing a production house like Yashraj. Besides, Bhatiza assures that she has never met Liliput nor heard his story from anyone. "Mine is an original script," says Bhatiza. Kohli maintains that there is no truth in the entire story. "It could have been a coincidence too", adds the director.
