Is Katrina making the same MISTAKE as Rani?

Katrina is now the female star of choice in Bollywood. Every filmmaker first thinks of casting either Kareena or her and then considers the rest of the female stars. Katrina is really in a great position career wise. BUT these days I am seeing a lot of similarities between Rani of mid 2000s and Katrina of today. At the peak of her career Rani was doing films with only with YRF or Dharma except an occasional cameo here and there opposite the Khans. She was known to be a very diplomatic woman who was friends with all the warring camps in Bollywood. But then her films with Yashraj started bombing one after the other and Rani simply disappeared from everyone's radar. All her old friends like KJo/SRK/Salman started casting other younger female stars. Even YRF had no films for her.
Today Katrina has movies opposite all three Khans at the same time. She has become a YRF/Dharma favorite. But on the other hand she couldnt do Rajnikanth's films that were offered to her while DP bent backwards to allot her dates. Salman Khan's family has kept her out of their home productions. Salim Khan even said that Kareena is the BO queen. They went ahead and signed some newbies like Sonakshi/Angela rather than Katrina. Apart from the films with the Khans Katrina may do Dostana with Dharma but she isnt doing films with anyone else.
So my question is whether Katrina today is making the same mistake as Rani made few years back by banking completely on YRF/Dharma? These production houses have in the past let go of their favorite lucky charm like Rani and cast younger faces as it made more business sense. Rani didnt have any friends when she needed them the most during her lean time. Many felt she paid the price for exclusively becoming the YRF heroine that no banner wanted her later. Will Katrina face the same fate as Rani as good times and youth dont last forever?

Interesting... Thats quite a similar path ... The only difference i see is all four YRF movies that spelt doom for Rani had stars like Saif, Shahid and AB Jr... Rani definitely was a bigger star at that point of time compared to all three... The movies were totally riding on her star power and when they failed it meant a major career setback for her...

You are forgetting one important factor. People go to see movies based on lead actors, music, promos.. a lot of things but I don't think Production House is one of the criterion for people getting interested in a movie, at least not the general, non-internet-browsing aam junta. YRF never put much stock in the Khans. Since 2000 they have probably made only 4-5 movies with the Big3.. Mohabatein, Fanaa, Chak De, Veer-Zara and RNBDJ. A total of 5 movies in a 11 years. Rani was paired with small fries like Saif, Shahid, AB jr. That's why her movies bombed and she went out of business. Only recently YRF, to save their sinking ship, has decided to go the whole hog and signed up the 4 most bankable stars of Bollywood for their upcoming movies.

Rani never had the kind of box-office clout Katrina has and she never had the biggest heroes opposite her to make huge hits. Katrina's next 3 movies would probably be all ATBBs and just reinforce her reign at being the box-office queen. I would think more Production houses would be lining up to sign her after this.

And lastly, why would anyone let go off a movie opposite the reigning Khans to sign a Southie movie opposite Rajni. ASh did Robot and what exactly did she receive out of it?

@Relda: Most of Rani's films may have not been opposite the Khans but they were opposite SAK who was as big a star as Rani. They made a successful pair to boot. So when Rani signed those films she must have never thought she would go wrong. YRF itself had a formidable reputation at the BO at that time.
