Yet, I know many conservative, orthodox families where the rules are different. Girls who are good in their studies are forced to get married while graduating. Agreed that the numbers are few but let me tell you they do exist. The story of navya is about two such conservative families. They may have settled in Mumbai but their attitude and approach is different from many modern families settled in big cities. Remember we got a peek into Navya's relatives in the Kanpur track?
Anant and Navya were forced into the decision of marriage because of their families. In many traditional families children are not allowed to voice their own opinions and if they do, no one feels that they deserve attention. Then again, when children come from such backgrounds, there is always a conflict between the traditional ideas with which they have grown up and the new inputs that they get from the environment outside their homes.
I think the story is about these issues, so let us watch the show to see where it goes rather than jumping to quick conclusions. If the CVs don't give in to trp pressures I think this show has ample opportunities to show us how to strike a balance between traditional and modern values. After all, it is the middle path that leads to a stable and rational society.
Though my husband and I are very modern in our outlook and have given our children the freedom to make their choices, our relatives are very different and so I have seen both the worlds.
So my dears, it takes all kinds to make this world and variety is after all the spice of life!
I do not wish to hurt any feelings because we are after all members of this forum family and though we may think differently, we share a common bond of love.
