Simandham or the South Indian version of Baby shower is done in a very traditional manner...where the mother to be is decked like a bride and lots of rituals are followed! It is almost like a wedding...all the relatives and friends are called and there is usually a grand celebration! Especially if the woman is pregnant for the first time!

When the Bachchans threw a grand baby shower for their then expecting bahu Aishwarya, we got a glimpse of Bollywood's who's who arriving for the ceremony and the decorations at the entrance of their residential home.

Here, we bring never-seen-before inside pictures of the do, held at Taj Land's End, Bandra, in suburban Mumbai.

The would-be parents' outfits, even the decor, was colour-coordinated with olive green. Aishwarya sat pretty with an ornate flower arrangement in the background while doting husband Abhishek puts flowers in her hair.

According to a Mangalorean ritual (where Ash's family hails from), the husband decorates his expectant wife's hair with Pingara (a tender flower).

Dressed in a heavy sari and Indian jewellery, Aishwarya looked radiant and happy as hubby Abhishek stood by her side.
