Is this really motherly love?

I loved the fact that they showed Gaurav gay because so many parents in india do this for their sons where they ruin girls' lives by marrying them to their gay sons. And then encourage or pressurize their daughter in laws for grandkids; which they obviously can't have cause they have little or no relations with their men. These women are then called baanj; probably the most disgusting and disturbing word in any language. The man who is actually at fault is considered blameless.

Second problem, is that the woman having no Physical love from her partner and probable abuse from her in laws for the above will be frustrated. But most parents, like Vidhya's father, believe that a girl's place is her sasural will send her back. What option do these girls have?

For the boy, he's either guilt ridden because he ruined someone's life, but like Gaurav even if he stays faithful to his wife can never love her and will be miserable in a marriage where he can't have a physical relationship with his partner. Or he'll eventually cheat on her.

In conclusion, is this what parents want from their kids? For them to lead a misery filled life.. Doesn't it seem a better option to let your child just be? I shudder being in Vidhya's position and feeling dejected everytime because the person she loves can't ever be hers..

There are a lot of people on this forum saying she is better off than Karan and Gaurav but I think she loses out most. But in her typical indian brain it's been hammered to love and sacrifice for your husband no matter what and she's doing that only. I hope people stop asking for this sacrifice from women..

exactly vidya loves him alot but i think she has lost hope that gaurev will love her back, devrani a good mum but she has made vidyas life hell in marrying gaurev with her and the pressure she put on him is immense but i got to applaud vidya despite evreything she still wants gaurev to be happy

Vidya has definitely sacrificed a lot for everyone! But people are forgetting how much Gaurav and Karan have.. all their lives.. hiding your own identity for a lifetime.. it kills u... kills u inside... u cant share ur true feelings.. but pretend to be happy for years and years... i hope Gaurav and Karan end up together.. they are an amazing couple but i dont want Vidya to lose either.. hope she finds her love in Chinu... she fell in love wtih the wrong man... and she can fall in love again..
