Just wanted to ask some questions to members here. Seeing the things which have been happening for a long time now, some doubts came up in my mind. I would be glad if someone took the initiative to guide me.

- If we do not agree with someone in the forums or something shown in the serial, should we just choose to keep silent about it and withdraw from forums - but NOT speak?

- It's all okay if funny or sarcastic posts are written for a so-called negative character. But is it wrong or being insensitive if sometime a post or topic is written about some silly/wrong representation of things done by all characters (positive/negative ones included)? Or if something in lighter vein is written about a positive lead character? [I know some souls got irked by my AAA post in JT thread. Even the funny description of Anandi in Vasuja's thread about all BV characters only got me reactions saying I write well but I should write for Gauri and kind towards Anandi!]

- Why such double standards? I mean, it is all fun, likeable if there's a funny/sarcastic post on DS or Jaggu or Gauri, but it is ''insensitivity'' or ''impatience'' or ''harshness'' if there is a similar light-hearted post about Anandi or the whole serial and its characters? Why was a certain member questioned when he/she pointed out that Bhairon also had not been able to do anything solid?

- Is there a rule to talk only in positive sense for certain characters and only in negative sense about certain other characters?

- Is it compulsory to be a FAN or HATER of certain characters if we are to participate in the forum? Isn't a person allowed to talk about the larger context or message of the show or its perception? Is there no escape from labels of ''fan'' or ''hater/insensitive/biased soul''?

- Does speaking out honestly, mean you are frustrated or intolerant?

- Why do members not just confine their reactions to a particular post and its context? I mean, is it necessary to make personal comments or judge character or a person's thinking? Why make assumptions about the other member? [I am talking for all members here - I know some members have faced comments about their age group too.]

- Is a viewer of the show or the member of a show's forum always supposed to be a ''loyal'' devotee of the show? Is there NO room for honest opinion for any actor or any storyline - even if a person tries to use respectful language without merely resorting to bashing or gaali-galoch? Is it a forum or is it a temple where you're not allowed to speak against or question the deity?

- If it is just a show, it it is only about jodis, if message is of no concern, if it's just about TRPs, technical or financial issues and if it's all about keeping patience and regularly watching it, giving the show chances or understanding all characters - then what is the point of having a forum to discuss?
Is the forum only meant to be a chronicle of written updates, videos, pics and constant celebration of all characters?

- Why so much suffocation in the forum? Why attack someone on the basis of just one or two words written in a complete post, leaving aside everything else?

- Are there any more ''unwritten rules'' (except the ones mentioned by mods) for the forum which perhaps recent members like myself need to know and take care of? Agar hain toh kripya bataa dijiye!

- Is it a given that neutral stance means the person would be attacked from ''both sides'' (read fan groups of certain characters)? Does it mean we are NOT allowed to talk in a broader context? Is it always going to be a case of ''If you're not with us, you're against us''?
Why not make it clear then, NO NEUTRAL STANCE ALLOWED! - ??

- We are instructed/requested/expected to be patient with the serial makers, why is there NO patience for fellow members? And OBVIOUS show of losing patience with ''certain'' members and their POV?

Increasingly, a lot of members are now being left with no other options except to just leave the forum or communicate only via PMs but not post in forums. There must be (and there surely are!) MORE reasons for this happening apart from just the obvious downfall of the show itself.

[I didn't make this topic as some sour grapes reaction on my part. I talk about other members too. But I did not name anyone in particular, lest it sounds like I'm using others' names to add legitimacy to my post or its concerns! I hope I was able to convey my honest doubts/queries without sounding like I'm attacking someone! If I sound mocking or attacking then I beg forgiveness in advance for offending anyone! ]

I think every character is open to criticism, be it lead or other. Nobody is perfect, not even the lead characters. If we wont express our true feelings then CVs will keep dishing out idiotic tracks and things will never improve. IF is not a fan-forum, its a discussion-cum-debate forum. If just keep singing praises then there is no use of such a discussion forum.

Annika, i was one of the main member who brought up the age group discussion. I meant it to be fun, but I understood that it hurt many members.I understood it and apologised to them and from then have refrained from posting much about any character. I have met many different people in the forum, some love their fav characters, some like them yet criticize and some are neutral. Earlier I was taking this serial very seriously and was making posts...It did not go well, then I started the fun aspect...i crossed the line in the age group discussion. I realised and I have apologised and have understood how much is fun and how much can make it sour...So now a days i don't make such loose statements and comments...I want to be cordial with all members, have few discussions, have a nice chat and move on...i had made some good friends and I like chating with them at times. I am happy that even the people to whom I have been rude indirectly have forgiven me now and are friendly with me...

Their are no rules in the forum annika, but we cannot accept everyone to react in the same way. Some people take it openly, some accept it and refuse it meekly others get angry...But from my experience I have understood that all the members are very nice irrespective of their views about the serial and its characters... Once I dissociated myself from all the fictional characters I am free now, i happily talk with all the members and I don't care which character they like or dislike...Yes I have stopped making strong or sarcastic posts...but I am happy talking with everyone now...

@devashree

Thanks.

@Vasuja

It is not just about age-group only. I am also talking about labeling members or assigning adjectives related to frustration, insensitivity, impatience etc. towards their post. Or someone accusing another member of favouring a character just because she is educated and bashing someone and under-estimating potential of rural area girls!

You made a great point of not taking it seriously, giving up even sarcasm and accepting it as another routine fictional show. Perhaps this is what everyone should do...🤔

You don't talk much these days. You've reduced your activity drastically on the forum. Neither much positive, nor negative or even funny.

Annika initially I used to make serious posts...Later I started my fun posts and I got many friends...I initially restricted my posts after the age group discussion becoz I felt that I need to control myself. Just because it is a virtual medium, I did not want to make loose talks and hurt others which is not my nature...

I had a strong belief earlier that in BV Anandi is gonna be highly educated out do Jagat and Gauri. Jagya Gauri will suffer and Gauri will leave Jagat and Jagat will be of no where...I think this strong belief was the reason for all the fun, serious, indirect rude posts. But now I have no hope in CVs. they r ultimate gods. they can kill, redeem, unite or break up any character... I just lost interest in the serial...At times I feel the whole serial absurd. But yes I like this forum, so I do watch few epis or read updates so that I can follow. But now I don't care or hate any character too much... who knows what turn the CVs will take...Why bother. the illusion that BV is different is broken for me from the time i feel that JAAN union may be on the way...

I don't want to hurt anyone even unintentionally, so I have reduced my activity in the forum. I read most of the posts..but don't reply much or participate in discussions... I plan to be like this for some days... I would love to make funny posts like the poha one or something totally not related to any character, but nothing happened like that in the serial to intrigue me.

It is an open forum, everyone can say what they want whether it is criticism, appreciation,

Or sarcasm but under COC. If one character is criticized then counter argument can be given by the fan of the character. 😊

Ok my example...I am a anandi fan in fact I am lil biased towards her ...impact of kid anandi still now on me!😳😆

Anandi is the lead who criticized a lot and whenever I found I can give a counterargument I did...if not I stayed quiet. I never said anyone u shouldn't talk about her like that coz I am no one to say that and I shouldn't...and I am a hardcore criticizer of JG so no one can tell me u shouldn't do that while criticizing them...😆

Honestly I learnt it from this forum...when I was new here...there were many constructive criticisms😊 and even very bad bashing of anandi were there ...i found it was very difficult to survive here but thanks to some very lovely ppl here and their counter arguments...i am addicted to bv forum 😳...and can handle those things better now😳..!...but it is sad that majority of them r inactive these days!!

It is always very interesting to read ur comments...those r always a treat to read ...i really admire ur explaining capability annika😛...so keep posting!😃😛⭐️

I agree with you Vasuja perhaps some of us were having too high hopes or expectations from this show...😕

Of course, the thing about BV being different was COMPLETELY an illusion only. I kept questioning what happened to their earlier claims. But I feel it is nothing more than a bubble. They are just masquerading about being different!

It will be really the best thing to let go of any hopes or any illusions of something different or sensible in this serial.

I just wanted to point out why someone like you or anyone else was compelled to reduce activity or made to feel like they were hurting someone or that they should talk only about funny and indirect things like poha etc.?

I tell you, people even seem to have problems when there is talk of objects. Talking about poha is funny, but talking about the lavish midday meal and compooter is not!😲

Why are some people being increasingly made to feel like they should keep quiet, not talk about certain things or perhaps reduce their activity altogether?

It's easy to say ignore it. But it feels kinda suffocating to be actually HONEST!

Talking about just objects is also not acceptable to everyone. If objects are related to ''GAGA'' it is really funny. But if its the glasses of Rooh Afza in haveli or adrak wali chai or tel maalish - then it is not that funny!

Annika

i was not forced to keep quiet and all. i just understood that I was hurting others and I did not intend to do it...

This forum has gone through different phases: when JAAN were kids, the forum loved them and hated DS.

After the leap some were happy with JAAN romance, some did not like it much due to many reasons
1) few did not like actor portraying the role.
2) few felt that the character lost it quirkiness and was reduced to an achi bahu

then after gauri entered few loved her becoz
1) some loved the actor in the role
2) some loved the sensibility of the character and felt she will kick jaggu's ass

I don't blame anyone to like some actor on look basis... Its not bad. even I wished that the role of jagya was played by some better looking actor than Shashank. I will like to clarify that I am not blaming anyone for like any character or actor in the above remarks.

But after GAGA marriage their has been many anandi lovers and GAGA supporters...

This is just a passing phase..If the CVs unite JAAn then again the atmosphere in the forum will change.

People are attached to the favourites. Neither do Anandi fans nor does GAGA fans like negative posts...the thing is that the forum is dominated by Anandi supporters than GAGA so the brunt of criticism is felt strongly...

Its a passing phase Annika...If JAAN reunion happens the forum will further be inactive.

@ Thank you very much Annika, for putting out the frustrations, irritation and just suffocation of a neutral viewer who is just watching or following this show for it's story...with all characters and their dimensions!

You didnt use anyone's name but here i say, I Anjani, fully concur and agree to what you just wrote.

I have become tired of justifying and laying down same arguments again and again about y i criticize Gauri or y I am so disappointed by Anandi.

I refrain from actually participatng in any fan based discussion but this show comes and promotes itself under a moral fibre, it claims to showcase the social evils etc but what has th writers, cvs or makers have reduced it now, it has become a focal point of sterotyping women, subtly encouraging every social evil be it child marriage, domestic violence etc.

The two female leads are Anandi and Gauri, both at some point were spirited, dynamic and focussed individuals but what have they been reduced them to, Anandi since entering into adult lyf became a docile, meek who till now is refusng to accept the fact that she has yet not become "Anandi", she might not be Jaggu's wife but she is still very much , Dadisa's beendni or Singh family's daughter...the problem is not her accomplishing a career or big deeds , it's the lack of will and sense , she is not realizing the importance of freedom ori ndependence, yet we see her preaching Asha about it. We criticize this hypocrisy.

Gauri , makes sense for everythin but about becomes this enraged character when it comes to Anandi, Jagat and most importantly herself. She is portrayed as a kind and a socially aware person but where does her values and these principles go when it comes to being rational about her marriage,Anandi and Jagat. We criticize how CV's have made her character as a perfect sterotype for city girls being all about career , having no respect for culture, values and with no tym for home!! What a thing to say when majority of its viewers consist of women who work all day, cook dinner on tym and watch this serial, how much negative impact it projects.

Education track, it is a very important issue and needs to be promoted well, now this track has been goin for more than 2 weeks or so, but the way it has been handled with all the tym it had , leaves no options but to mock it. Anandi is telling villagers about computer, doesnt she realizes that most of them might not be able to use them ever, they would not be able to own them , wasnt the use of a simple calculator more effective. Then again my questions about the age-grp persists. The whole transfer of class back to haveli is so wrong, it has further demarcated the boundaries of Anandi, will she ever break free from the walls of the haveli, school was atleast an excuse to walk the road alone, observe the world a bit.

Now coming back to Annika's post, agreed its a serial, entertainment but expecting us not feel affected by what has been shown is wrong as well. The biggest fun of this forum was not the episode that was watched but the thought provoking posts and healthy discussions on various issues were very stimulating.Unfortunately , those days are numbered.

As a neutral viewer, i repeat , the only people i want to bash are the writers, CVs and the makers of this show...oh add channel head too, for making a mockery of a show which could have been a pathbreaker.
