Good PR firms are paid in gold. Their tactics cannot be as transparent that any Tom, Dick or Harry can see through their ploy and laugh at the stars they represent. They have more cunning, subterfuge and intelligence than a common person. So, what appears obvios is more often not and vice versa.

Beboholic: again, if it their PR that planted the story, the next step is saif and bebo to be 'mad' that rumors are being spread. This is how the cycle works. Everyone plays their part, everyone gets upset, until most of the lines are blurred and nobody knows what the original story was and where it cropped up from. The end result is staying in the news.

I'm not implying its their own PR, but guessing as much is not far fetched
