Drdee – No I do not have any medical background. I am an IT manager and have no idea about medicine. Hence everything is fictional including disease names etc.

Chapter 17 – Action

Next few weeks went in utter excitement. Everybody was super duper happy and working like crazy to get the move completed as soon as possible. There was frenzy in both the houses.

Maan was on cloud nine. Initially he felt little guilty for hiding the truth about Geet from his family but was relieved seeing everybody's smile. He realized that Geet may be the trigger but in the end "yeh to hona hi tha"

There were times when he just sat; staring in space and grinning like a fool. It was embarrassing when his mom caught him one morning day dreaming about his Geet.

Maan smiled thinking about it.

He was sitting on the breakfast table while Juhi was making omelet. Maan for no reason started seeing Geet making the omelet. She got it out for him and started feeding him with her hands. She fed him one bite and then gave him a small peck on lips. She again gave another bit and pecked him again. This was continuing when she raised glass of orange juice and brought it closer to her lips. She took one sip and then turned the glass so that her lipstick marks were clearly visible. She brought it close to Maan's lips. He was about to sip when suddenly he was brought back to reality. His mom was shouting at him while he poured orange juice on the omelet Juhi had just made and served him. Rishab and Annie were in splits while Maan just looked on. Maan rushed out of the house mumbling "Sorry Mom" before anyone could ask him any questions. He could hear peels of laughter till outside.

Juhi and Rishab had already started packing and disposing off unwanted stuff but the biggest worry was Annie's college and Maan's hospital.

Geet was waiting outside the dean's office at LSR College, Delhi. She was pacing outside the room when peon asked her to go inside.

Dean - "Hello Geet, how are you doing?"

Geet – "I am fine sir. Thanks for taking out the time for meeting me."

Dean – "Oh that's ok. Moreover, I have to take out time for one of my most brilliant student, college topper and an active alumnus. This meeting was long pending as I wanted to personally thank you for your efforts in last semester recruitment. Thanks to your references, we got a very high percentage of placements.

Geet – "That's the least I can do for the college where I have learnt I so much. But sir, today I need a favor from you"

Dean – "Haan…Haan..bolo"

Geet – "Sir, actually there is a girl – Annie Khurana, she has applied in your college for upcoming batch. She is my family and they are planning to shift from Mumbai to Delhi. I don't want to sway your decision as your views are very important to me. My only request is that if possible can you please scrutinize her case early and give her result, positive or negative, as soon as possible. This will just help us in planning. Of course this college is her dream college so she has not even applied anywhere else. Last days for applications are soon so accordingly I can help her"

"Don't worry Geet. I will look at her case and intimate you and her the results this week itself. And, I know you will never try to sway my decisions as you are an ethical person. But your reference means a lot to this college."

Geet left thanking the dean. She was really hopeful of the outcome.

Adi knocked and entered the office of Dr. Sood at Medicity hospital.

Dr Sood was an excellent surgeon and the chief administrator of the hospital. He had started Medicity 3 years back along with some of his senior colleagues from other Delhi hospitals. In 3 years, he had managed to bring Medicity to one of the top NCR region hospital. Most of the top doctors were associated with Medicity now due to Dr Sood's network. Also, hospital has one of the best and latest facilities.

Adi - "Good Morning Sir"

Dr Sood – "Good Morning Doctor. How are things? Hope all is fine as I was taken aback a little with this meeting request."

"Everything is fine sir. I just wanted to mention you about the surgery department. We have one of the finest surgery department sir, but we are still lacking in a top notch nemocytis ward. We have surgeons who can perform but definitely not the best"

"I agree but there are still very few doctors who are have proper experience in this field due to latest developments. Do you have any ideas for improvement?"

"That is for you to decide but I can just give you a reference. I am sure you have heard of Dr Maan Singh Khurana"

"Are you kidding…off course…he is the best as he was part of original team. He is one of the best not only in India but around world"

"He is a very good friend of mine. He has decided to move to Delhi and I have convinced him to give Medicity a chance before he approaches AIIMS or Gangaram. As he believes in ongoing research he has some terms and conditions but is fairly open to join the hospital till his requirements are met. Think about it and let me know. If you want, an interview can be arranged by talking to his secretary. This is his card."

"You are not pulling my leg Dr Adi. There is nothing to think about it. I will today only arrange an interview though I am worried about his terms as he is the best"

"Well, he can only divulge finer details but they are more related to kind of research facility he will need in addition to normal ward facilities. He is very big on research and will not compromise on that. Other than that he has some conditions on how much percentage of free patients he will take up etc etc."

"I know that he is quite different. At this early age also, his head is screwed in the right place. Thanks Dr Adi for this information. It will be a big achievement and a big boost to Medicity if he joins here. For this reason, I am sure entire board will be happy with this. I will take action on this immediately."

After one week, Annie's result was out and she had been selected to LSR. Two days later, Maan also got the confirmation from Medicity that his application has been accepted along with all his requirements.
