fiction. I understand that these shows are fictional stories and are written and enacted for our enjoyment but sometimes if it is too far from reality, one is left to wonder. I would not say that US soaps are great but atleast they stay within limits of the original idea. This show started late night and on a good note as it felt to be watched by very regular mature audience becaus e of its concept. But soon, I forced myself not to switch on this channel as for me the weeks of romance of wooing between Aditya and Priya was boring. Then, there was a stop and marriage plans were shown. How many times would we think that a girl' s family in Haryana, would go along with all without meeting with the boy's father. Even if the SSP played clever, in a time zone of digital cameras and face book, how much would be possibl e for the future bride not to meet the prospective FIL before wedding. In real lives, no matter how so ever you would stretch the reality towards fiction, how many FIL's would play cat and mous e with DILs. It is amazing to watch the kind of talk between the DIL and FIl under the same roof. If I am Aditya, and one day the truth opens up, I would be angry at my wife for hiding this bitter truth and would not be able to trust her ever again. To me it is Priya who is at fault for not letting the truth out whether it was rape or attempt to rape.
If I am Priya, in reality, no girl sensitive as Priya, would hide the truth from my husband. I know the outcome could be breaking of my marriage wows but its better done now than later on after estabilishing the physical relation with my husband.
So in short it is hard for me to digest the game play between Priya and SSP.
I understand the concept is to outlay the hypocrisy going in our society but the way it is being enacted is vulgar for me, Adi Priya trying to consummate and the dad trying to stop it- oh come on. It doesn't have to happen only during the night, it doesn't have to happen in a planned way, it could be instant between the two loving creatures- that i s the reality. And how many nights is SSP going to be keeping Adi away, why Priya has to fight it out. She can definitely be more modest in not competing with a man like SSP and then be a winner when the cat takes it easy. Why the women have to be shown dumb and suffering when in reality they are not.
