I'm divya,

If u remember, priya had seen her FIL before marriage, however it was duplicate FIL, so we cant blame priya for this .

There is some amount of leniency that we should give considering the story line.

To me it is Priya who is at fault for not letting the truth out whether it was rape or attempt to rape.
If I am Priya, in reality, no girl sensitive as Priya, would hide the truth from my husband. I know the outcome could be breaking of my marriage wows but its better done now than later on after estabilishing the physical relation with my husband.

So in short it is hard for me to digest the game play between Priya and SSP.

I understand the concept is to outlay the hypocrisy going in our society but the way it is being enacted is vulgar for me, Adi Priya trying to consummate and the dad trying to stop it- oh come on. It doesn't have to happen only during the night, it doesn't have to happen in a planned way, it could be instant between the two loving creatures- that i s the reality. And how many nights is SSP going to be keeping Adi away, why Priya has to fight it out. She can definitely be more modest in not competing with a man like SSP and then be a winner when the cat takes it easy. Why the women have to be shown dumb and suffering when in reality they are not.

The way Priya is behaving, she is showing all the signs of weakness of a woman. She is trying to use her last weapon against the SSP.

Well I don't agree with you completely.

Because, I would say it is hard to get a husband like Aditya who will accept you with your horrifying past that too with so much love,respect and understanding. If I would have been in her place I would not let him go at any cost. Because practically speaking what is lost that is gone one needs to secure all that one has.

But, if Priya still wishes to get justice, she must not say anything and wait till

1.she makes the foundation of her relationship with Aditya strong enough that Aditya trusts her blindly (I don't think cossumnating their marriage will help. Though experts say physical relation enhances love and affection for a person. But, here the factor is trust and for this their are no formulas, giving it some time may help)

2. Aditya becomes financially independent

3. Aditya establishes himself as politician with greater power than this SSP.

The difference is Geet went into the relationship with Dev willingly where she wasn't abused physically. Whereas Priya was physically abused which left her to be uncomfortable with her own husband.

I agree with people saying that Maryada is one of the few shows actually close to reality. And western shows, especially daily soaps (which is what one should be comparing maryada to as it itself a daily show) are sooo far from reality (I live in Canada, went through my soap phase)...i mean for example in Days of our Lives, i don't know HOW MANY TIMES that one lady has died and come back to life, or she was being possessed. theres so many people that die and keep coming back to life that I had to stop watching it was ridiculous.

and like someone else pointed out (sorry forgot the name), at least in Maryada they actually change into nightgowns to sleep, so stupid when they show them going to sleep in full decked out saris & jewellery.

There obviously has to be a bit of an unrealistic storyline because then they would not have much to do show us and the problem would be solved within a few months, and then we would find ourselves complaining about how fast the show has finished off... we wouldn't get to see so much aditya 😍

I really enjoyed reading your post, and there are definitely some parts I agree with, and others I have a slightly different opinion on.

Like everyone else already said, although this show is in a way far from reality at times, I think that the issues it deals with and just the way they're handled are both really huge plus points, things that can correlate to reality.

As for the points you bring up, with the girl's and the guy's family not meeting up, I see it, but like tons of other things, a pinch of salt, and everything is fine. You're definitely right though, for a DIL not to meet her FIL before the wedding is odd, especially in this day and age, but technically she did meet someone who SSP sent as himself. So it's a stretch, but something that the creatives dealt with relatively smoothly.

The AdiYa romance getting to be a bit much at times, lol as much as I love them as a couple, I agree. But they've definitely gotten much better with that over time, as you may have noticed in the more recent episodes.

I agree completely with the above statement, especially after knowing how impulsive Aditya is. Although he wouldn't have believed her if she had told him now, he's definitely going to be extremely angry with her. But I think that's human nature and either way, no matter what she would have done/will do, I think Priya will have to face his anger/his not trusting her.

But yeah, the fact that all this drama is happening under the same roof, SSP-Priya, and no one notices...well, that's the world of TV shows, I guess😆😆

You have no idea how much I agree with this statement! Honestly, I get that she wants to make this first time special for the both of them and whatnot, but like this aspect definitely seems so darned impractical to me. Like, SSP interfering in his son's business, that's his nature, but it's just odd, not letting them have marital relations?

And as always, it is a TV show, it needs drama, which is usually very illogical and so on. So we have to take everything with a grain of salt. But overall, the show is defintely one of my favorites of all time. 😃😃

Uff, I think I sounded remotely logical in the beginning and fizzed out by the end. It's 3 AM so excuse my incoherence😆😆

Totally agreed with you with each of the points @ Naina2127especially everything has to be taken with a grain of salt.

But, Priya should not tell Aditya the truth all of sudden.

She a should first show him examples which will make Aditya believe that his father is not a God, and everything is not always the way it appears.

Because telling Aditya would mean putting her marriage, relationship and everything at stake.

Though Aditya will get angry at Priya for not telling the truth initially but he will not break their relationship. Later, on Priya can take care of the whole matter because Aditya will have no place to go than to her, as he always says his wife and his dad are his biggest support.

Only my point of view.

1- It is too far from reality. I can't agree to this line. Maryaada is best reality show in SP.

Like other Saas bahoo drama they never sleep switch on BIG LIGHT.

2- weeks of romance of wooing between Aditya and Priya was boring. I can't agree this line too.

We r human beans we need love, romance, angry, cry's sad'.etc. all these should be in drama. Aditya and Priya romance was not boring. I am saying this if anybody check utube or any other site most of people view romance senses. Why? Not only in Maryaada. Other dramas too.

Lotus If u watch this drama u never say this. Priya wrote a letter saying everything. But she don't know the name. Yes. SSP is more clever When he knew abt Priya he planned very well. Before marriage. Digital cameras and face book r their but she never notice anything wrong with that family all others r so nice. If she heard SSP is Adhi father she never search on FB. Cause she don't know the name. If she saw this person (SSP) before marriage. Then this wedding will not take place. This might happen. And also I agree to FIZK6 "And Priya has tried many times to tell Aditya the truth but either Adi stops her or something comes up. We just have to wait until Adi finds out the truth ( cant wait). I think the creatives are first making a strong bond between the four women before they break their maryada. Only then will they be able to support each other. But who supports who is what we have to wait and find out."
Adi Actually loves Priya. He have to support Priya too. Still he supported his Dad. He is in Dad side so Priya has to plan well. If all these thing happen in one episode. This show will be going to end within 1 year. I don't want to END this show.
