That was scary & sad ; Geet lost her parents & Maan lost his family . Am glad Geet went to Amritsar to pursue her studies & Yash took over KC 👍🏼 in time .

Hospital

Yash had suffered a heart attack,in the midst of an important meeting.

He was trying his level best to keep things moving in Khurana Constructions since Maan had stopped working. Like Maan and everybody else,he was also heavily affected by the loss of his dear ones..on top of that the hard work and the work pressure were taking a toll on his health. But he conveniently chose to ignore it due to Maan's indifference.

Doctors told Daadi and Maan that it didn't seem to be his first attack...Maan felt very guilty....He felt indirectly responsible for his father's condition....He should have been there for his father,supporting him in his struggle to bring KC up ,instead he had been thinking only about his loss and wallowing in self pity!

Yash passed away that night....

Maan sat hugging Daadi and Annie..He silently promised his father to take good care of his family as well as KC,all the while begging for forgiveness for neglecting everything...

He joined back in KC. He worked like a maniac .Daadi and Annie didn't get to see him at all. Looked like he wanted to drown his sorrows in work..but Daadi noticed one thing..of late,he has started drinking too much.

Three years later
---------------------

Khurana constructions was doing well now.Geet was in her final year..she decided to do join KC as a trainee,so that she could work on her project as well as gain some work experience.
Her grandfather granted her permission,so she informed Daadi about her plans.She wanted to shift to her old home near Khurana Mansion but Daadi wouldn't hear of it.So finally,Geet came to live in the Mansion.

Although Maan was nice and polite to her,she was shocked at his change.He was not her sweet Maanji anymore..He was very broody and hardly spoke to anyone.In the office also he was a terror.His mood swings were unpredictable.

For the first time,in all of her 21 years,Geet was scared of Maan.At home as well as in the office,she stayed away from him as much as possible.She could see how worried Daadi and Annie were about him.He was still relying heavily on alcohol to forget his worries..he had become like a robot..fulfilling all his duties but hiding behind an unseen wall separating him from the rest of the world!

Daadi was hoping that Mishti's arrival would bring some change in Maan,but Mishti herself looked pretty scared every time she saw him. Daadi urged Geet to go ahead and talk to him..bring him down to the dining table,so that he'll eat at least one meal with his family.

She was scared initially,but seeing Daadi in tears,decided to go ahead. Maan brushed her off harshly a couple of times but finally gave in when she persistantly demanded.

Dev visited them when he came down from US.He was also appalled to see this side of Maan.He went to Hoshiarpur and formally asked Geet's hand in marriage.They got engaged in a small ceremony and decided to wait one more year so that Geet can finish her studies and he also will get enough time to make necessary arrangements to take her with him.

One year Later

She was quite unaware of his intense gaze on her..She was having a gala time with Annie and couldn't stop smiling..

"Oh Babaji,Dev will be coming down soon & then our marriage,Yippee!"

Annie had been teasing her since morning,but she loved it..she loved it when Annie spoke endlessly about Dev & he,even though she pretended to be annoyed at the teasing.

" Achoo",sneezed Annie..

"Okay Annie,that's it..let's go inside..I don't want to catch a cold, my Dev's coming in two days.I don't want to go in front of him cherry nosed like a joker."

" Okay Geet ,you & your Dev..come let's go",said Annie & the girls ran inside the Khurana mansion giggling merrily.

Geet changed into one of Annie's salwars.The yellow colour did wonders to her complexion.

"Ummm kaafi khoobsurat lagti hai, kya baat hai Geet? Iss glow ka raaz kya hain??",she asked her reflection.."Is it because of Dev,Haa??"

"Oye, Geet stop admiring yourself & come out..Daadi wants us to join her for tea" ,called out Annie.

"ufff ,yeh ladki bhi na,kuch bhi bol deti hai," , muttered Geet under her breath & walked towards the dining room.

In the hall she saw Maan painting......she was surprised to see that..She quietly called Daadi and Annie and showed them too.

Right from her childhood she had always admired him & his talents.He was a very happy-go-lucky person,but that fateful day had changed him so much that Geet felt she doesn't know this new Maan .His smile,his cheerfulness..all lost with Sameera and Aryan..no more music, no more colours in his life....

But the past couple of months,things seemed a bit different,thought Geet..She could see a spark in his

eyes, a hint of a smile every time he looked at her.He had also started painting recently..Daadi &Annie were happy to notice this change in him.

"If only he stopped drinking & came back to his original self...I just hope he'll find happiness soon", thought Geet.

She really wanted to see what he was painting but was not quite sure about his mood so decided to stay away.

" Mishti", come here please,I want to show you something", Maan gestured towards his painting.

Geet was surprised..it's been ages since he had a proper conversation with her or anyone else for that matter.She went near him.

He gently lifted the veil covering his painting..she stood looking at it with her mouth agape......the smiling face that looked back at her was her own!!!

He had painted her!!!

She couldn't imagine when she looked this radiant & beautiful!
Daadi & Annie gasped in surprise..

"wow Maan bete,this is your best painting till date",said Daadi.
"You've captured the expressions on her face quite well!"

"Great going bro", Annie was all excited.

Maan thanked them & looked at Geet waiting for her reaction. Geet was still in shock.

"Mishti,Mishteee",he shook her out of her reverie "Did you like this painting?"

"Like it?? I love it!! Please Maanji,Can I show this to Dev??.."

"Sure Mishti,you can have this .Consider this as a gift from me."

"Gee thanks Maanji,you're very sweet",Maan smiled,amused by her childish excitement.

" Daadi, Annie,I guess I'll leave for Hoshiarpur day after tomorrow.I want to be there before Dev reaches.... some last minute preparations need to be done...but I've to go get my certificates from KC..Maanji can I collect them tomorrow?.."

"Sure..any time"

"Thank you! Guess I should start my packing..Daadi,Annie is coming with me to Hoshiarpur,When are you guys coming?"

"We'll come beta,you let us know once the date gets fixed."

"Ok",she hurried off to her room with Annie in tow.

Maan kept looking at her retreating figure.He couldn't figure out why he felt terrible every time she mentioned about her impending wedding with Dev..
