| | | | And the winner is... Indian Idol finalists Sandeep and Karunya | RJs Jaggu and Tarana had a tough time choosing the GO Idol as Karunya and Sandeep locked horns at the studio.
The celebrity judge was Amit Sana, runner-up of the first Indian Idol. Here's a face-off before the final winner will be declared tonight.
Tarana: How does it feel, jaan? Saare judges always say that Karunya is very good and if he doesn't win, it will be a shame. How does it feel to be compared all the time?"
Sandeep: He definitely sings well but I am a good singer, too. The judges have also appreciated me and I choose to focus on my plus points and concentrate on doing my best and not let competition affect me."
Right from discussing their strengths and weaknesses to how life had changed for both of them for the past six months, it's been one rollercoaster ride.
Then it was time for the final call for which both sang individual songs as well as belted out Tu aashiqui hai, from Jhankaar Beats, together.
While the listeners posted their votes via sms and phone calls, Jaggu and Tarana chatted with Amit Sana about his journey and his views on both boys. While he was more keen on Karunya and his singing abilities, Amit wasn't unhappy with Sandeep, either.
Jaggu: You've heard both of them singing. Who do you think will win?
Amit: Both are good singers. But about Karunya, I'd like to mention that he is a trained classical singer, which acts in his favour, and he is a versatile singer. He is not typecast and is original.
At the same time, one strong point I'd like to put across about Sandeep is that I think he imitates Udit Narayan very well, which is his strength.
Tarana: It's a strength? I think it's a drawback.
Amit: No, it's not a drawback but since people like Udit Narayan, he would tend to attract more fans.
The battle was won by Karunya | |
