I'm guessing Vayu, but was he ever killed? Also, who was the mortal whose grandson he was?

I was interested in a woman who later married Krishna, and therefore got involved in a plot to kill her father - a father-in-law of Krishna. Later, in the Kurukshetra war, I fought on the Kaurava side and was one of the only survivors of the war.

Also, my son was married to a daughter of Krishna

Uh, no, Vasudev somehow was not the heir to Shurasen, but rather, he lived under the rule of Ugrasen, who ended up as his FIL. Shurasen's eldest daughter was Kunti, who was adopted out to Kuntibhoj, and Shura probably did have other sons who succeeded him, but Vasudev was for some reason not considered in line to them. And after Krishna's passing, his descendents succeeded his maternal, rather than his paternal dynasty.

Anyway, the clue was

And as far as I remember neither Shursen nor Vasudev were actually kings, they were heads of the Vrishni faction within the Yaduvansh. Due to an old curse they couldn't rule Mathura and were always subject to the Bhoj faction that Ugrasen led. And he wasn't Vasudevji's FIL, his elder brother Devak was. But... still wondering, what demoness was Subhadra, I thought she's Yogmaya 😕
