You Belong To Me ' Part 21

Madhvi spread butter on her toast carefully lost in some deep thinking. 'Good morning everyone' Sunil greeted his family, joining the members who were having a breakfast. Madhvi dared not to look at him or anyone else there as she did not like their idea of making Khanak to join the business. She stared at Khanak who was enjoying the breakfast, offering food to Shaan and the rest.

'Sir ji' Premalal came running to Sunil and handed an envelope to Sunil. He opened it and without mentioning what it was about he asked the servant to bring some sweets. 'Sunil, have you gone mad after reading it?' Madhvi could not tolerate it and rose from her chair. Sunil gestured her to sit down trying to control his laughter at her instant reaction. 'Yash is getting married next week and we have to go there' he broke up the happy news to all and Madhvi too smiled hearing it.

'What? I can't believe it' Shaan asked surprisingly. 'Who is the unlucky girl, dad?' he completed the next part of his question too. Sunil gestured him to be silent and winked at him before he walked to Madhvi. 'Well, the lucky girl is Gopi' Sunil made Madhvi to sit on her chair as she tried to get up hearing Gopi's name. She understood that her sister could accept anyone to be her daughter-in-law, but how could she do it with Yash. The playful and egoistic Yash could not be able to tolerate such a girl like Gopi. She has to talk to her sister on this matter, and she would never let the life of Yash to be ruined like this. She planned everything in her mind while the rest of her family were enjoying the sweets and praying for Yash's happiness.

'Hello, can I speak to Mandhira?' Madhvi asked the servant to put Mandhira on line. 'I'm fine, but sis, how can you do such a thing with Yash? Afterall it is his life' Madhvi started her questions at once. 'No, no, no. Madhvi dear listen to me first! It wasn't me who chose Gopi to be my daughter-in-law, but Yash did and I'm not against it as it is his happiness which is important to me' Mandhira concluded everything within one go, leaving Madhvi in a state of shock. 'Anyways, I would love to see you all there, take care' she added before putting down the phone. Madhvi stood still holding the receiver for a while and then put it down and walk into her room.

'Are we ready, guys?' Akshay asked before the driver started their vehicle. They kept on singing and telling jokes and teasing each other during their long journey to Dulwadi. Shaan made sure that he put his arms around Khanak's waist while she was seated in between him and Daadi. After sometime Daadi doze off because her old mind needed some peace. Shaan took an advantage of the situation and started to romance with his wife, who was afraid of getting caught. He caressed her back from his left hand while talking to Akshay who was trying to keep Khushboo asleep for some time.

'Attention all! We have reached the beautiful land of Dulwadi' Sunil announced as they reached Dulwadi and Khanak grinned happily at him. She got out of the van, removed her sandals and let her feet experience the sweet and dry sand of her own village. Being home again was something that she never thought of, she ran through the sand and it felt so good that tears gathered into her eyes. She touched the ground and played with the sand like a small kid who was trying to count the grains in it, breathing in the smell of it deep into her.

Shaan was stunned looking at his wife and he could not understand the tears gathered into her eyes. Why was she crying? Didn't she feel happy to be back at home? Shaan was confused not knowing to identify whether she was crying because of happiness or was it because she remembered her past? She has forgotten everything and she has moved much forward in life with him, so she should not feel sad. He took one slow step towards her, and then the other, filling up the gap between them.

'What happened, Khanak?' he grabbed her elbow and dragged her hard to him. She looked at him in confusion, trying to free herself from his grip. 'Nothing, leave my hand, all are watching us' she murmured to him. He looked around and smiled at her 'let them watch. Unless you tell me what had happened I'm not going to let you go' he tightened his grip on her. 'Nothing happened, now please let me go' Khanak pleaded him to leave her. Shaan looked down at her deep eyes and saw the nervousness; he tried to ease her by turning her the other way round. Little did he know she tricked him and ran away showing her tongue out to him? 'Damn it! Khanak, I will teach you a lesson and wait until I get you' he murmured blowing the sand up into the air with a kick on the ground.

'Congratulations!' Khanak gave a long and tight hug to her sister like friend, Gopi who was feeling shy due to the people gathering and looking at her. 'You have grown up, Gopi. Tell me when did it happen? I smelled something fishy before too, but didn't know that you two were into it' Gopi opened her mouth in surprise with the bundles of questions Khanak came up with. 'Hold on! First take a deep breath and give me also a chance to say something' Gopi pulled out a chair for Khanak to sit.

Gopi turned her back to Khanak and told her briefly how everything happened so quickly. 'I never hated him, but could not believe he would fall for me. Anyways, it has happened and we are tying the knot now' she turned again and widened her eyes as she saw Yash and Shaan raising their eye brows at her. She covered her face and ran out of the room into the house. 'She felt shy' Yash tried to save his going to be wife from Shaan and Khanak. 'Oh, really!' Shaan and Khanak said together congratulating Yash who was feeling embarrassed at the same time.
