Friends and Their Silly Antics
"Kripa'there's no use in remembering things that don't matter anymore" she told herself especially those things that happened eight years ago. She always reminded herself to live in the present, because it was really beautiful. She couldn't complain'a grand house, great high paying job, the most caring and understanding son, and the best of friends. At that moment she was getting ready to go one of her friend's house for dinner. "Oye mere handsome prince, tu ready hai na!?" she called out to her seven year old. After a minute of no response, she went to check up on him in his room, but no avail. "Mama sahiba main ready hoooon!" little Josh called out from the living room.
Half an hour later, they both were in front of Prithvi and Mishty's house. Josh rang the doorbell and Mishty opened the door with a devilish smile playing across her face. Kripa wondered what she was up to, since she was always up to something. They went inside and sat in the living room. Prithvi was making dinner since Mishty hated work, especially cooking. Josh was doing his usual masti with Mishty and Kripa. "Dinner's almost ready, Mishty call him!" Prithvi yelled from the kitchen. "Call who?" Kripa asked suddenly aware of why Mishty was giving her secret smiles. "Uh my cousin who is a year older than you is coming over also. Agar tumhe pasand aye to mujhe batana!" with a wink she was off to call him. "I've made a huge mistake" she said to herself as the doorbell rang. "Why don't you and Josh get settled in the dining table" Prithvi said in an understanding manner as he went to open the door.
"Mama, kaun hai door pe?" "Pata nahi bachu'Mishty ka cousin hai vo" As she said that Prithvi and the guest came in. "Kripa, I'd like you to meet Angad Khanna. Angad, Kripa Sharma, she's one of our good friends." Kripa's eyes shot up and she saw the man she had given her heart to long ago. He still looked the same, except he didn't have that stupid smirk on his face when she had last seen him when she was 21. "Hello Kripa" he said in the coldest voice. She looked down and then up, trying gather some courage, "Hi, Angad. It's nice to meet you." Mishty walked in and said "Angad! Finally! Also you should meet Josh, Kripa ka beta." "Beta?" he said aloud, in a semi-angry voice. He then looked toward Kripa and then at the little kid sitting to the left of her. He was a cute little boy that resembled her, but his eyes'they looked so familiar. Could it be? Josh's eyes resembled his?
Dinner wasn't all that bad since Josh and Prithvi were doing most of the talking. Occasionally Mishty would say something about Kripa to Angad or vice versa and they had mini eye lock sessions. Both of them didn't dare to tell Mishty that they had actually known each other long ago. If they did, she'd go Sherlock Homes on them. After dinner Angad left a little quickly, Kripa didn't mind because she felt uncomfortable around him. Once he had left, the horror wasn't over. Mishty'"Kripa tumhe kaisa laga mera cousin?" she said winking at her. Kripa lost in her own thoughts about Angad looked on to her best friend and said "Kya? Nahi Mishty sochna bhi mat!" Prithvi spoke before his wife could, "Kripa jo tumhe chod kar chala gaya uska kyun intezar mein rehti ho? It's been eight years'" Kripa quickly said "Uske intezar main nahi kar rahi hoon tabhi to I'm saying no!" Both were standing there confused while Josh was playing video games again. "Kripa, iska matlab kya hai? Are you seeing someone else?" Mishty asked disappointed at her match making skills. "Nahi Mishty, but I don't want to meet anyone else either. I'm happy with taking care of Josh by myself and having friends that care. I've gotten my heart broken once and I can't afford to get it broken twice." So they all decided to drop the subject there. Mishty had been trying to get Kripa to find someone since the day she'd met her, she'd just have to try again some other time.
Two hours later Kripa was getting Josh out of the car, as he'd fallen asleep on the way back. "Uff Josh you're getting so heavy to pick up" she whispered to herself. She put him to bed, kissed his little forehead and went to her own room. Just as she was about to go change out of her clothes, the doorbell rang. She checked the time, only 10:00, but still who came that late? Irritated she ran downstairs and opened the door to yell at whoever it was. "Kripa" someone said in the softest tone. She looked up to find the same man who she tried to forget long ago. "Angad?! What the heck are you doing here? At night! Just go!" she said all at once. She didn't want to fall into his trap anymore. She was done with him and she was glad that she had realized it. He wasn't the type to just let go easily, he pushed her inside and fell on the first thing that he saw, which was luckily a couch. Shocked Kripa went up to him and saw that he was fast asleep. "He drinks and then he decides he needs to pass out at my house! Ugh Khanna you're still annoying!" Kripa decided she'd deal with him in the morning. Hopefully he'd be gone by then she wished.
