Part 4
Pancakes and Questions
Kripa and Angad stood there quietly for a very long time. Finally Kripa moved into the kitchen and got all of the ingredients ready for the food she was going to make. Angad just followed her into the kitchen, because he seriously didn't know what else to do. Kripa finished making the food in about 45 minutes...the pancakes, coffee, juice and toast was all ready for the eating. Angad had called a mechanic to fix his car that was the cause of this meeting.
After a while, Kripa broke the silence by asking Angad if he wanted some freshly brewed coffee as she poured some for herself. "Kripa tum coffee bhi peeti ho aab? I thought you didn't like it..." surprised at the fact that she drank coffee. "Haan, coffee aachi lagti hai aab. Things change Angad, its normal" she spoke a serious tone. "...Things do change" he said with a heavy heart.
Kripa gave Angad some coffee and went to go check on Josh. But she didn't get very far, as Josh came running in with messy wet hair. "Mama. Im ready!!" Josh smiled and asked, "Pancakes and cartoons on the sofa?" Kripa smiled at him and tried to fix his messy hair while asking, "Do I ever let you do that?" "No, but I just thought I'd try..." Josh said in a defeated manner.
Angad smiled at Josh's behavior, and decided to make him an offer that would make him a little happier. "How about I tell you a story about my favorite super hero Josh?" Josh agreed and both went on and on about which superhero was the best. Kripa silently watched both discuss the topic with such enthusiasm. After breakfast was over, Kripa cleaned up the kitchen and Angad sat with Josh on the sofa waiting for the mechanic to finish up his job. Josh was excited that he could talk about superheroes with someone older who was interested in them, unlike his mother who believed the Superman was the best because he was handsome.
As Angad was enjoying his time with this little kid, he wondered where the husband was. Even though it angered him that Kripa had moved on in life, he wanted to meet her life partner. He shivered at the thought, "Life partner". Once upon a time he dreamt of a life with Kripa, but not today and never again.
He wanted to ask Kripa, but he knew her well enough to know that she wouldn't give him a straight answer. Josh. Josh would be willing to tell him about his father. "Hey Josh--" Before he could ask, the mechanic rang the doorbell to inform him that his car was ready to go. That was that then, he said a quick goodbye to Kripa and her son and he was off. "Mom, he seems cool huh?" Josh asked wanting to know his mother's point of view. "Yeah beta, he does. I need to go to the bathroom'" She almost ran to the bathroom. As she closed the door behind her, tears rolled down her cheek. She wasn't going to cry, but she couldn't stop herself anymore. Why was he here now? She was living without him for so long that she forgot how good it felt to be around him.
Angad was driving towards his house that he had just bought a month ago. A month ago, he wasn't even sure if he wanted to move back to Delhi where his memories of past would haunt him. "Ironic isn't it?" he thought, "The city where his past haunted him would be the very place he'd find the girl that was a part of his past." What was going on? Why was he remembering the things that he never wanted to remember anymore? And why did it bother him that Kripa had moved on in life, when he was still trying to? Maybe he should have never come to this city again, he thought.
once again super sorry for being lazy!! also i really do appreciate the comments/feedback! it makes me want to continue writing and that too better! so please keep on doing what your doing!😳
