I would like to state tht unlike others who feel she is overstated...I had never found up that....
She was the only actress I actually started to admire when I ws quite small...the very first sight of her Ek Do Teen made me look into her...its right tht she ws known mainly for her dances..bt bec she ws a good dancer..and her expressions were flawless in the dances...ppl wrote the popular nos for her...and made her dance in every way....tht apart it doesnt mean tht her dance ws overshadowed by her acting...
If I hv to count her dances and her performance...then her performances in Dil ws an absolute delight....then moving to even standing in some whimzical movies, as far as her performances are concerned..its difficult to judge a person by only few of her films..who has seen films like Prem Pratigya, Abodh to count her as an actress..I doubt....even in Beta she holded her ground compared to the lead actor than also dancing in the tunes of Dhak Dhak....
HAHK could hv nt even holded strong if she ws nt there and counted her presence....its sad tht ppl remind her as a dancer than an actress...
Apart said above...when I see today's dancing of the actresses...I feel tht they r no longer even holding themselves with their nerves right...just moving the body doesnt mean dancing...has to be right expressions for each move too....its my POV....
