And the background music in the initial part of the movie reminded me of the music of 60's soaps like I dream of jeannie... The initial part has very old hollywood kinda slowish feel to it!!....

With the whole unrequited love thing happening between Arjun and Aisha's character! It seemed cute in the beginning but I started losing interest in that scene where after the polo match sonam mouths the dialogue "US mein recession chal raha hai naa tabhi vahan se sabh vapas aa rahey hai" This dialogue was supposed to show some pizazz, attitude and some arrogance... but it showed Sonam speaking in voice as if she was asking for a candy.. mummy mummy candy do naa... ma please do naaa... and I was like ok.. this is too much!! This is not how it is donne.. 😆
Btw the polo scene reminded me of gossip girl's 3x01

And I had to watch the whole epi of gossip girl!! To get my senses back... Hhaha this is how it is done!! Blair Waldorf, perfect blend of attitude, style, hint of childishness, wit, and a lot lot more!! Love you blair!!
Then I watched that scene where they were playing volleyball and that scene sorta reminded me of "Two week's notice tennis scene"

😆 😆
I don't think I am going to finish watching Aisha... would rewatch.. two week's notice.. or an epi of gossip girl.

many of the scenes were a complete rip off--of cluless also!

Umm..so ya, I watched it. Nothing worth writing essays about. Pre-intermission was better than post-intermission. Something about Sonam's dialogue delivery annoys me..long way to go (I was being positive about her for no reason :|). Piece of cake for Abhay, he was charming. Supporting cast was fab. It was theek-thak, not the kinda chick-flick I'd like to re-watch. Wished the movie were as rocking as "By the way.." Ho hmmmmm... 🥱

Ok FINALLY watched the film! I was dying to watch it but the people who were supposed to come with me kept cancelling 😡
I was actually thinking of not watching the movie after reading all the reviews but, THANK GOD! I didn't!
I LOVED the movie, I know I know. MANY thought it wasn't THAT great and I guess that's why it seemed so good to me because after reading other people's reviews, I decided to lower my exceptions . I threw the idea of wanting to see a "BRILLIANT" or "PERFECT" rom-com movie out of my head.

And well, I LOVED it! 😆
I know there were kinda some faults in that movie but I don't care because I got what I wanted and what they had promised, a breezy, romantic chick flick.
I only wanted to see this movie for the romance and that's what I got, I do think there could have been a bit more moments between Arjun and Aisha but the moments that were there, were just BRILLIANT!
Every small thing between them were good, These two just share a REALLY good and natural chemistry. I couldn't help but smile at the smallest eye contact or the smallest smile shared between these two.
But the thing that ACTUALLY pissed me off was WHY THE HELL DID THEY CUT OUT THE KISS SCENE BETWEEN ARJUN AND AISHA!!! 😡
I mean SERIOUSLY! They put like one or two kiss scene of some other pairing but they couldn't add the Arjun and Aisha kiss scene?!!
It was like the perfect moment for them to kiss but.... 😡

I rather, MILLION... no ZILLION.. times more see the Arjun and Aisha kiss scene rather than those two idiots kissing (Dhurv and that girl... what was her name? Anita?).

Anyway *calms herself down*
The movie was good. I for one, liked it very much and Am definitely going to get the dvd to watch it again.
Sonam wasn't exactly THAT great, I think it would have been better if she had improved a bit more in her dialouge delivery and some of the scenes but still she fit the character, Aisha. I really cannot imagine someone else in her place.... maybe I could since the way she dressed and played out the character reminded me a lil of Blair from Gossip Girl but Aisha isn't exactly.... umm.. doesn't exactly have the evil mind Blair has.... Anyhoo... Sonam was the best choice... she wasn't perfect but she wasn't TOTALLY bad either as some critics make her out to be. She was good, She fit the character well. She really played Aisha to the best of her efforts, The expression and feelings and everything.
As just the character without Sonam playing it and all, Just the character Aisha was really good, I felt something for her, I just really felt for the character.
But it wasn't supposed to be emotional high on drama movie, it was just a light breezy chick flick so I guess it was alright.

Abhay was really good as Arjun, he played the character well. He REALLY REALLY fit the character of Mr.Knightly in this movie, I couldn't say this for Sonam but Abhay was just GREAT! I don't think I could imagine someone else in his place but the only thing that kinda bumped me was the fact they didn't dwell a lil more into his side, his emotions but this movie was about Aisha but still would have LOVED to see a bit more on his side.
The ending was just brilliant, it was cheesy (I even said the word out loud when I saw Sonam go and confess her feelings in someone else's wedding) but I loved it, The way he confesses and just the emotions and all were just BEAUTIFUL.
Which brings me to the fact, THEY SHOULD HAVE KISSED! 😡 😡 😡
Also like someone said before here, The way Abhay played this character made me thing that every girl who watched this film would have wanted a man like Arjun Burman in her life.

The other characters, Pinky first, she was alright, a good friend and all but they didn't exactly go much into her character so can't say much. Cyrus as Randir was very nice, he acted well as Randir. Everyone couldn't help but laugh at his scenes. The thing that really confused me was the SUDDEN love between Randir and Pinky... even the Dhruv and that other girl's romance, They just so out of th blue hooked up.

I wasn't exactly focused on them so I didn't pay much attention to it, I was more focused on Arjun and Aisha so..... 😛

Ah also the character, Shefali, the actress who played the character was a FAB actress. She was natural in her character's scene... She really got into the skin of her character. But as for just the character, Shefali, I understood her but couldn't really like her all that much.

For Aisha's dad, the actor who played it, he was good. Funny, lovable and just very good.

Actually I have a LOT to say but I'll cut it short, The cast was great, they were all good and they all suited the characters expect the two actors who played Dhruv and that NRI girl. They weren't really that good. Also the story could have had more depth but it was great as it was.

All I want to say is that, It is definitely a MUST watch.

P.S: This review is written by Romantic and a HUGe Arjun and Aisha fan so... yea. If you want to go watch this movie, I suggest you go with an open mind and not expect it to be like BRILLIANT or something like that. Just watch it for what it is, A simple, breezy rom-com movie.

EXACTLY! The kiss should've totally been there. It's not logical how he kisses her nose and then her hand. WTF! It would have been so magical if they kissed! 😍

I love this article, especially the bolded part haha.

Oh Aisha!
Aisha looks good. make that gorgeous. Everyone's going GAGA about the fabulous fashion labels offered on a platTeR to stylists Kunal Rawal and Pernia Qureshi. Sonam 'Aisha' Kapoor in Chanel and Dior, Ira 'Pinky' Dubey in Manish Arora, Amrita 'Shefali' Puri in Anamika Khanna and Lisa 'Aarti' Hayden in Salvatore Ferragamo. The style is nice and all, matching up on the meter to foreign fashion symbols like Sex & The City and Gossip Girl. The biggest lesson Aisha teaches us is to think about the total look. t2 presents the 10 commandments of style, Aisha style...

Thou shalt experiment with the hair. Crimp and curl, scrunch and straight, braid (French and every other kind) and bouffant, sleek side-swept low pony or sexy pile-up, wavy or voluminous. Thou shalt buy many hair accessories like Greek goddess-esque metallic hairbands, sequinned bows, rosettes, cute clips, various hairbands, flowery rubberbands and other haute hairpieces. Thou shalt seriously experiment with the hair.

Thou shalt think about the make-up. Thou shalt not step outside without blush. It's beautiful. Thou shalt learn how to open up the eyes with a single stroke of white eye pencil. Thou shalt be brave to sport bright lips. Thou shalt have strong brows. Thou shalt master the art of sexy smoky eyes that thou shalt play up with a pout.

Thou shalt make PPF investments in the current financial year. It will be Pretty. And Powerful. And Fabulous. It will be a classic bag. Chanel quilted, Salvatore Ferragamo or Lady Dior. Thou shalt also invest in Louis Vuitton luggage for thou to carry while camping, rafting and trekking.

Thou shalt work the waist. In a nipped-in skirt, peplum-detail fitted dress, high-waisted trousers, 1950s-style silhouettes, New Look-inspired dresses and corset tops. Thou shalt buy belts. A leopard belt to wear with white ruffled blouse and shorts, a slim tan belt to give shape to a printed kaftan dress, bright wide belt to brighten up neutral creams…

Thou shalt embrace black nail paint. It does NOT have to look gothic. Or evil. It can look pretty-pretty.

Thou shalt romp about in robes, at home of course. Fluffy towel robes, black satiny robes, feminine flowery print robes. And thou shalt buy smooth satin somethings to wear under the robes.

Thou shalt be glamorous when gardening. Aisha wears chiffon and lace while slogging in the soil. She also bakes in macrame-esque sundresses. And cooks a full meal in all-white mul.

Thou shalt wear pearls. For that old-world glamorous vintage touch. Pearl studs to yoga class. Same studs for polo match. And statement pearl necklaces with sexy dresses during drinks about town.

Thou shalt hail the hat. Fedora hats, berets, jockey hats… Thou shalt hit people when they laugh at us. Or our hats.

Thou shalt pray for an older sister like Aaliya didi. Who has a husband like Karan Burman, who has a younger brother like Arjun Burman. In short, thou shalt pray for an Abhay Deol. So thou shalt dance happily ever after in white and gold saris to Gal meethi meethi bol...👏👏😆 *Praying for an Abhay Deol* 😭😆

Aisha opens with a fashion feast. The colour story is lilac and white. Sonam Kapoor lights up the scene in an Anamika Khanna lehnga. Her itsy bitsy choli, her casually draped dupatta… The designer (in picture) has created some drool-worthy designs in Aisha, every piece better than the previous. Our top 5:

1. The opening wedding sequence clothes. Every one is wearing shades of silver and white accentuated with shades of lilac and mauve. We love Aisha and Pinky's lehngas, Chitra masi's sari and Aaliya didi's suit.

2. Sonam's silver textured sheath paired with a blue bag and black cage heels.

3. Shefali's tomato kurta with zardosi bootis.

4. The Diwali sequence. Aisha's net panelled sari with choudani border (see cover picture). Also Aarti's indigo blue and black net sari dotted with black sequins.

5. The closing wedding scene. The gang of girls all wear Kerala mundus (white saris with gold borders) touched with a dash of red, either in the form of bootis, borders or blouses.

Perky Pinky

The ultimate Pinky Bose moment came during the rafting trip when she emerged in a hot pink playsuit, Fish Fry for Reebok boots and Marc Jacobs beach bag. It was also when Randhir Gambhir told her that she resembles a "guldasta" and that she cuts her clothes out of a circus tent! What does Gambhir know! We love her quirky fashion quotient. She does full fashion justice to Manish Arora. And we love her yummy little strawberry bag too!
