Watched Aisha and I thought it wasn't as bad as I presumed it would be. I guess I didnt mind it because I had zero expectations. It was certainly way way way better than IHLS. The latter was just all over the place.
I dont understand why some critics wrote that second half was slow paced? 🤓 I've watched some of the slowest movies one can possibly imagine 'The Diving Bell and The Butterfly'. 'The Sea Inside', 'Treeless Mountain' to name a few and have loved them. I wonder what the critics would call these? 😆 I didn't think it was slow paced :S
Performance wise: Sonam lived her character as Aisha. Although she has a long long way to go. She faltered at emotional scenes :| :| and her Englishey accent was well...need to work on that as well. Abhay is ABHAY 😳 I really liked the new girl as well. She was good.
All in all, the movie is out an out a chick flick. Very light, peppy and young. But I still prefer '10 things I hate about You' over 'Confession of a Shopoholic' or 'Mean Girls' kinda chick flicks. Aisha leans more towards the latter. Altho, I was glad that there were no OTT dramatic scenes that Bolly movies tend to have. Some dialogs were witty and funny. So it was nice to see that there were no cheesy dialogs to say the least. 😊
Amit Trivedi ROCKS. From the use of trumpet in Suno Aisha, to voilin in Lehrein, to acoustic guitar in Sham-- sheer genius!!!
To summon, Aisha is strictly watchable.
