Another good movie which had brilliant songs were Annamayya, there were just Shri Annamayya's kirtanas but my god, they are just fantasticccccc.. SPB's voice sounds like a Gandharva's voice in that !

Thanks. Will check them out.

Yes. I thought this was quite a hard song to sing. I liked the way he sang it.
As mentioned earlier, I compared to Arjit's version (since someone said Arjit sang it better), and I would say Hema won hands down.

Your are trained right? Do you think this is a hard song?

Its not a question of being trained or not, I just love Rahman's music and his singing that I think its very hard to attempt any of his songs...

None of the contestants sang a SINGLE rahman song except Hemu. Rajeev sang Dil Se Re once but he was just miserable.

Rahman has a god gifted voice and unlike a lot of musicians who sing, Rahman is a class apart. Classical trained, its evident in his singing. In Lukha Chuppi the way he goes from high to low is just fantastic !

Maa Tujhe Salaam is a hard song in not just one way but in many others...

1) As Priyanka Chopra mentioned that there are a lot of variations through out the song..its almost a whisper when he says 'yahan wahan..' and its a full fledged cry from the heard at 'vande mataram'...

2) so much SO much passion invovled in this song... i mean i would just give him 10 for bringing that passion..

3) he didnt copy rahman..he added his variations and gave the song a new feel..

and i am not that trained.. i had learnt music sometime back but stoopped..after joinin this forum reharnessing that interest..

Oh!! god bless you, ab_argmp ji. You reminded me all of IR wonderful 80's songs now. Another fav song of mine in Kaadhal oviyam is "Naadham yen jeevane" sung by Janaki. That man is a genius and his compositions are just out of this world.

Thanks Srianne ji. SPB was great, as usual.
