Two scoops of scorn w/ a generous heap of vitriol

Manju cannot possibly sink any lower ... if it weren't enough to be so scathing with a daughter, did she have to resort to being thankful for having been returned to her husband's bedside - an inscrutable Matarani notwithstanding??!!!! What an acid tongue (more coming tomorrow)!! Then, to wish that when she departs for the nether world, she not do that from a widowed state!! What arcane, ludicrous notions - it's acceptable that poor husbands be left behind widowers??!! Oh ... and of course all the ill-will that has caused the rift between the two hasn't been jettisoned out the window ... oh no! every last grudge is still harbored ... and nothing about reassuring your husband that all will be well ... Matarani notwithstanding ... yet again!! Such lamentations! Such tears!

I think the serial writers need to tone down the vulgar. Shock value must be tempered with good taste. Who would not agree that it is inexpressibly coarse for a mother to be pouring invective to the extent of hoping that there not even be a specter of a shadow cast by her daughter in their next life!! One can only be thankful for the near certainty that there will be no next life!! One can also be equally thankful for the near certainty that mothers such as Manju do not exist (although now that the warring saas-bahu paradigm of the serial world has become hackneyed, the fire and brimstone spewing mother has taken its place - and is about as aesthetically pleasing as Anita's getup)!!

Kudos to Surinder Chaacha for silencing a foaming-at-the-mouth Anita! That sure put her in her place - however temporarily ... while the good guys are still outnumbered, looks like there could be desertion in the ranks ... who else is likely to defect over to the righteous faction? Nakul? Will he be Kool?! Interesting isn't it that he's completely oblivious to the predicament Poppa S. is in ... I guess Omi did not see fit to inform big bro. of any of the goings on ... and his suspicion wasn't aroused when Anita hung up mid-sentence .i.e. what was prompting this person to be 'spilling the beans' ... but he had already written her off as not having outgrown her ill-mannered youth, so it may not have come as a special surprise!

Nor was Anuj's suspicion aroused after being humiliated by the likes of Bhalla - 'haan buk, kya bukta hai?!' ... Anuj needs to have a partial brain transplant from wifey's head ... she's plenty crafty and could sort Bhalla out in no time ... 'Mujhe to garam garam jalebi, or naram naram gulab jaamun pasand hain' ... Abbe o Bhalley ... saaaley ... karare karare thappad khayen hain kabhi? Nahin? Le - inka to apna hi svaad hota hai ... THWACKTHWACKTHWACKTHWACKTHWACKTHWACKTHWACK!!! 😡😡

Abhi spoke!!! In defense of his wife!! But here's my pet peeve again - buckling under authority irrespective of the injustice being inflicted!! He needed to be more vociferous! Simi should have just walked past Manju to see her father ... Mili should have questioned her mother's ranting ... Abhi should have spoken out to silence Anita well before Surinder Chaacha had had a chance ...

Poor Abhi, still at it ... wiping his wife's tears ... consoling her ... coaxing her ... what a sweetheart! Does help get some of the bad taste from the scorn & vitriol out of my mouth!

As always very well put:-) I agree to everything you said. Manju and AA are hopeless but there is a ray of sunshine where SimBhi are concerned😃

Where on earth is the ray of sunshine?
I can't see any.
However all I can see is that the serial and the portrayals are going from pathetic to worse and not much is credible any longer. There is too much of melodrama and no shades of grey to any character. Just black and white and very very very very black and very very very very white. This really disturbs me since in real life things are far different. Grey is what dominates most times.
And I feel a sense of deja vu with each and every episode now. The intrigue is hardly moving. It's as if we have got stuck. The same adversaries inventing one move after another, the same allies trying to beat the obstacles, the same side characters who move the scipt along but the same melodrama, the same tears, the same accusations, the same resolves, getting tiring now.
Anita plotting and scheming, RB plotting and scheming, anuj plotting and scheming and descending to lower and lower levels that are no longer credible, manju screaming the same nonsensical spiel as always, simi shedding bucketfuls of tears, mili with an uncomprehending furious look in her bright luminous blue eyes, abhi lending the shoulder time and again, yawn yawn the same ole story ain't it?

For me Simi crying all the time seems too much to handle
Why dose she even have to cry beg soo much I mean what the hell has she done wrong
Neetu on the other hand has concieved out of a wedlock which is more embarrasing and now she is treating Omi also like rags is'nt she horrible

And i cannot believe Anita is from a family like the tarneja who has a son like Abhi
what a contrast
She is horrible when it comes to have relationship, be it husband, brother or inlaws or sis-in-laws

What is she doing other than nagging everyone

And what new form has Rb coming back in i bet he is going to try and make Simi's life miserable even try to harm her

All the way they want to show Simi and Abhi and their team loosing a battle which they can easily win

I agree with you. I just meant romance or just actuall chemistry between SimBhi like before

no strength of personality, no character development, no progression, just stasis of a sort..more like catatonia...there is more attrition than anything else, and as for regression.....just like an old ambassador car of ours that would..seriously..towards the end..start in 3rd gear!!
this has become so banal..the KB i would look forward to..with all the action and dramatic suspense has so gone kaput..
quelle tragedie!! 😕

Oh ... you've been gone too long Padma ... if you have a streak of masochism a mile wide, treat yourself to the episodes that led up to the 'final solution' (the uniting of a Simi & Abhi twosome) ... or if you want laughs, seek out my posts from that period ...
Compared to that mayhem ... the latest goings-on aren't just a ray of sunshine they're a full blown solar storm!!
But tell me ... if not KB then what?! I finally threw in the towel on Rishta.com (after my 3rd viewing ... puke!) ... at a minimum, Abhi remains a redeeming aspect ... as a character (not just Neil the choc. truffle) ...
