There is no one Feminism, but many feminisms, from the more practical variety that focuses on empowering women today, to the more theoretical and / or radical kind that inspects how patriarchy has systematically suppressed women's voices from the beginning of recorded history. But at base, the motivation is the same: to make women - who are already strong in themselves - feel as strong as men, to have their voices heard, their rights recognized, and their needs acted upon, to give them an equal space in private and in public life.

If you think about it then, in asking that Manav give Archana her due respect as his wife, you would also fall somewhere in the feminist fold. There is no reason for you to negate that because some men think it's a bad/ dangerous/ extreme way to think...... they do that because they feel feminism doesn't work to their benefit, and they feel threatened by it. The challenge for women is to show them how it's not a threat as much as a huge opportunity for the human race to evolve more fully in a social sense, how women by being equal partners both inside and outside the home can work with men, rather than against them in creating a more equal world.

I m not getting what r u trying to say... R u saying that demanding respect from husband is feminist... If that so then every female become feminist...

There is a line btw fighting for ur rights n being feminist.. Both are way too different..

I case of manav n archana.. The Q's of feminism doesnt arise.. If that was the case Archu wouldnt be at Manav;s taking all torture.. Its all together different when its comes to Archu n Manav..

There was justifiable reasons behind Sulochna's action but yes she should categorically ask for forgiveness for all these mistakes. Just going to Sachin's memorial for offering condolences , supporting Deshmukhs when Damodar was missing after blast and inviting them for Varsha's engagement

and giving them all the respect are not enough . We expect more from Karajkars coz they are sanskaari people.

Ali is young but if u note , his questions are not wrong .

Mitts I think C is trying to say that when someone calls u a feminist when u demand that a woman shud be respected too , you shud not necessarily take it as a criticism ......the way men take it when called a chauvinist . She says that there r different kinds of feminism branches but ultimately all have one demand and one goal.......give women their due respect .

Unfortunately , male dominated society fear the very term 'feminist ; and say ......wOH DEKHO WOH BEHEnJI TYPE BHASHAN DENEWAALI STRI MUKTIWAALI AA GAYI BAAP RE BHAGO ! Well this need not be the case . Women don't have to work against men after due power is given to them , they can work WITH men and take society to a different level altogether !

Mitts I agree with ur initial post especially after seeing how Archu sat outside today , it was too much .

About Archu sitting out.. Manava have lots to prove now... Archu is thrown out time n again.. And Manav havent really done nething... Lesse precap seems promising... But Not getting hopes up...

Manav has become a huge disappointment to me, I remember a time where Manav wouldn't bare to see Archana be treated so horribly. The Manav I used to know would've fought back and make Archana the happiest woman in the world, lately Manav has become a coward. Sadly, the Manav we once knew and loved to watch has been reduced to nothing.

I just cannot understand how Manav's feeings and reactions can be so compartmentalized. Here he is reacting violently when Ajit is abusing Vandu, he is getting all angry and clenching his fists, but is totally unmoved when his mom throws his wife out of the house. How can he be sleeping in the house when Archu is out of the house and he does not make an effort to find her? When Vandu left the house to jump in the water, everybody in the house was sleeping including Manav. How come he is not sensitive towards the fact that Archu has nowhere to go and she has been thrown out of the house by his mom? Why does he not react angrily when he sees his mom abuse and mentally torture Archu all the time in front of everyone with accusations that Manav and all the members of the house knows that are not true. What kind of a track is this? I am totally disgusted with this storyline.

I think Manav deserves Shravani, cunning and manipulative who will wave her stick over all of his deeds. Shravani is like Savita and weak personalities like Manav probably look for strong (khadus) people like their moms to go thru life. This is total injustice. Archu should forget Manav and live her life in a better way with a lot of self respect.
