"Shahika" had me confused for a good while. It took someone else to point out that it was a portmanteau of 'Shahid' and 'Deepika'. I do think they (celebrity couple portmanteaus) get absurd at times like "Shani", "Sonabir", "Birika", "Ranishek", "Abhiwarya", "Ashthik", "Shareena" etc but I think of it as a sobriquet which decreases the inanity of the celebrity couple name. It would be so much shorter to type the initials of the celebrity couples though and leave it at that, easier to comprehend it - kind of like how a couple of HP forums do it: RWHG, DMHG and so on.

The names can get pretty annoying. But I guess at the end of the day like others have said it is all about convenience. For the longest time, I didn't know that AR meant Armaan-Riddhima. It makes sense though because it takes so long to type stuff out. They do irk me, but I have gotten used to them, after hanging out here long enough (you kind of have to).😆
